Moser is handing out scholarship offers faster than GoRamblers hands out his phone number at Sidetrack!

Moser is looking for a stretch 4. GoRamblers won't be satisfied with anything less than a stretch 6 who can fill quality minutes in the point forward position.

I'm not sure if we have this one already but we have offered Demonte Nelson a 5'11 PG out of Kenosha, WI. Looks like he averaged 22.6 points a game this last year.

I'm really glad that we gave Porter the extension. It would have been a very tough recruiting process this year otherwise.

If you're looking for an easy way to keep track of our recruits, you can check out the Ramblermania home pagefor a new recruiting update feature from the one and only Blers!

Here's a link to the first one.

Thanks to our fearless leader JCT and of course to Blers for all his hard work.

It's easy to be a recruiting "expert" nowadays when all you've got to do is have a Twitter account and follow Verbal Commits and a few other recruiting sites. Any idiot (even GoRamblers) can do it.

In my day, it took moxy, gumption and true grit to keep tabs of Rambler recruiting. Before social media, me and bad sneakers had to rely on carefully cultivated contacts with Western Union and the Pony Express in order to break Ramblermania recruiting news.
Street and Smith's Annual College Basketball Preview Magazine that came out in September was considered cutting edge real time news.
Those were the days!

You Millennials are weak poseurs.

No offers for a bit, but with a bunch of tournaments coming up this week expect some movement. Also with August just around the corner we could potentially see a commitment or two depending on how early some of these guys want to commit (Cam Krutwig verbally committed in August). With that in mind here's a list of some recent visits.

Lamar Norman Jr, 6'2 Combo Guard from Godwin Heights
Explosive scorer out of Michigan, plays AAU with Rambler Recruit Brandon Wade. They form a pretty dynamic duo for 1Nation out in the mitten. Quick, big explosion, bigger hair.

Zion Griffin, 6'5 Wing, Hinsdale South
Another local product, athletic, long, already a solid build with an improving jump shot. Joe Henricksen noted him in a recent article as being under recruited and had this to say:"The athletic forward has been very productive while continuing to add to his offensive arsenal, whether it be putting it on the floor with face-up drives or knocking down shots with his improved jumper. There is no question the amount of offers will double and triple as Griffin plays out the month of July. Chicago State, UIC, UTEP, Wright State and Western Michigan have offered Griffin, while Tulsa, Loyola, Miami-Ohio and Nebraska-Omaha have shown considerable interest."

Sam Shafer, 6'5 wing, Lincoln Way East
SHOOTER. That's all I really know about him, his name has popped up more and more lately. Sounds like his game is growing, but regardless our squad may have a shortage of shooters after this season, finding a dedicated 3 and D player wouldn't be a bad idea. Joe Henricksen also noted him in his under recruited article: "The 6-5 wing was tagged with the label of being a one-dimensional player early on. But even with that it was the right dimension: shooting the basketball. Shafer can really shoot it and has the size, range and clean release to get his shot off, especially in the right system. He is one of the better shooters in the state and in a senior class without a whole lot of shooters."

Appreciate the love! I'll post singular updates on this thread like in the past and try and do a monthly round up of recruiting news for the home page when appropriate! When I read this forum before posting years back I loved seeing recruiting news so hopefully a lot of non-posters are encouraged to join in the convo here. I'm all about helping grow the fan community out!

And if anyone catches a player or has info I don't see or know about by all means throw it up and give your take! I don't have insider info just going off what I read in recruiting articles and infer from social media, etc. So I'm sure I still miss stuff and some players of the tier 2 players I listed may actually be priorities and vice versa. Still fun to try and predict the future!
