OK !! All season long we have been worrying --worrying about this otr that !! BUT we came through despite a lot of gargbage culminating by our being what I feel is being cheated by the COMMITTEE--We should be at worst a NINE---
Our guys are better team than that which BEAT FLORIDA !! Much better. I feel we shall defeat MIAMI and then advance even farther !!
The team we put on the floor at Florida vs the team we have now isn’t mentioned much, but Brot is right that we’re a much better team now. Consider that during the Florida game:
- Richardson was hurt 3 weeks earlier, and wasn’t playing (he also wasn’t playing at Boise State...heck we’ve only lost one (one!) game all year when we’ve had all of our starters healthy)
- Custer was hurt in the first half, and only played 14 minutes
- A big chunk of the game we had on the floor 2 true freshmen (Krutwig 36 minutes, Williamson 16 minutes), and two first year transfers (Townes 21 minutes, Avery 22 minutes)
So we were a largely inexperienced roster, only a month into the season, without two starters (our best defensive player and our point guard). And we still won. On the road. Against a ranked high major school. A high major school that would go on and in their next game beat a Cincinnati team who is now a 2 seed in the Tournament. I’m more amazed by that win every time I look back at the box score.
