I was pretty happy with the performance of our team last night. Keeping the turnovers at 10 or below is key for us. We played very good defense on Odum, who had only 3 points well into the second half, and we didn't get burned by Arop again. I liked our substitutions, and until desperation time I didn't have many complaints about shot selection.
On the negative side, it always sticks in my craw a bit when we lose by a margin less than our missed free throws, and by my count we missed six in the second half alone. I would have been happier with a few more rebounds and better boxing out-- I think we can find a way to win when getting outrebounded, but not by double digits. What has happened to O'Leary? He played only six minutes. You'd think he'd be in there and play well against his hometown team, but I guess we were looking for more beefiness inside. And the attendance, even though it was hard to get around and -7 wind chill outside, was simply horrifying.
As I wrote before, UNI is probably our best chance for an upset in this streak of games. They're not a real good road team (1-7 on the year) and they lost last night at Bradley.
