Great article John. I think it takes those 4 plus a win in STL. Hopefully if milt is back for the Isu game, we can pull that one out as well. Go Ramblers

A nice recapitulation of the LeCrone Conspiracy Theory for our newer Ramblermaniacs.

You know I'm not a big conference tournament fan in general, and hopefully soon there'll be a day where I don't have to think twice about totally disregarding Arch Madness to blow all my money traveling for the NCAA tournament. But thank God we're in a conference that at least tries (and quite well I might add) to not put on a total clown show operation in March. Obviously the byes were the biggest thing wrong with the HL Tournament but the campus sites were just so small time and pathetic.

This is an extremely Hypothetical question and i haven't been following any of the horizon league teams this year, but if we WERE in the Horizon league this year and had a healthy Doyle.... does anyone think we would have been at the top this year?

At the top, sure. Undisputed top? Not sure. Valpo is running away with the league this year.

Top three at least , "ledo" ! Green Bush and Valpo--decent--the rest , not so much this year.

John ,btw, is right on--He does NOT often write unless he has back-up facts. Of course, he is allowed his opinions "from the heart" as well--
His remarks over the years re the HL were important stuff for us.

Re Doyle-- I am now at the concerned stage--I will hope he plays WED--but seeing is believing ! I say again--What a lousy break for us and what a huge break for the rest of the Conf teams--( I do not say that any one team or other WISHED for this.--The fact is , he went down in the Wichita game--We have NOT been the same since--
In the 'Olden days"--like last year and before. we would have laid down and died--Not this time, tho--THAT is what makes me so proud of this bunch.

I know it's a case of would've should've could've, but Valpo's starting point guard is Keith Carter who committed to LU during Porter's first season, de committed and signed with SLU, and then transferred to Valpo's. I don't think he would've been a huge help this year cause he's a point guard, but he was going to take the scholarship we eventually gave Keke White.

And Green Bay is pretty good this year too. I think if DePaul cans Purnell, Wardle would be a top choice.

I think it's slim to none that Doyle plays this week with slim having one foot out the door.

Brot, before a recent game, the notes said he would "likely miss 3-4 more weeks". Three weeks would be February 18, and four weeks would be Feb. 25. I wouldn't expect to see him before then.
