JCT's Restaurant Suggestions:Sauce on the Side (Inexpensive gourmet calzones, great bottled beer): 903 Pine St, St. Louis, MO (about 7 short blocks east from Scottrade in downtown STL)
Planter's House (Elegant Pub Food, try the Duck Burger): 1000 Mississippi Avenue, St Louis MO (1/2 mile from Scottrade, south of I-64)
Mango (Upscale Peruvian food, lively entertainment): 1101 Lucas Ave., St. Louis, MO (1 block north of Washington Ave., a hot nightlife strip near Loyola hotel)
Vito's Sicilian Pizzeria & Ristorante (Great Italian, lively atmosphere, may need reservations) 3515 Lindell Blvd, St. Louis, MO (about 1.2 miles west of Scottrade across from St. Louis U.)
Other suggestions:The St. Louis Symphony at Powell Hall is excellent, and inexpensive compared to Chicago. They're having a soprano sing a Wagner piece Friday and Saturday night.

The Hill is full of great and affordable Italian Restaurants (similar to Taylor Street in Chicago). It's a residential neighborhood with Old School Italian restaurants in converted houses, like Tufano's in Chicago. Zia's is one of the most popular restaurants, but others may have suggestions. It's about 2 miles west of Scottrade, parking can be difficult so you may have to use valet service.
Tour the Anheuser-Busch Brewery in Soulard, and then check out the kitschy restaurants, brew pubs, and Wicker Park-like street life.
The Central West End is a lower-key Lincoln Park, with handsome homes straight out of “Meet Me in St. Louis,” and a few nice restaurants and bars.
Leclede’s Landing is a very touristy area with blues clubs, bars, and
a casino.
Check out Forest Park—site of the 1904 World’s Fair and Olympics. It's their equivalent of Lincoln Park, with a zoo, jogging, ponds, a historical society, etc. About 2 1/2 miles west of Scottrade, great for a drive through the winding roads, exercise, sightseeing, and relaxing if the weather is nice.
Take a
ride on the Metro to see some of the city and surrounding areas. Lines go to the Airport, west into St. Louis County, and into Illinois across the historic
Eads Bridge built in 1874.
