I believe that Toledo will get an NIT bid, but I would not mind playing Bowling Green. BGSU is a very interesting team, because they are a lot like us. They have been in the dumps for a a while, but got themselves a new coach, and build themselves a brand new arena (smaller than their older one), and despite having a good team and a winning record, could not draw ANY FANS to their games. They too are looking for a "culture change" and seem to be pointed in the right direction.

Didn't Loyola and Bowling Green used to have a Tradition of playing on New Years Eve every year? I don't recall us playing them any time within the past 20 years. I would love to host them in the CIT if we ever get our stuff together and announce if/where we are playing...

Yes we did !! Longshot and I went to the Games--then slowly wended our way back to Oak Park and Maywood--Party after party !! I believe BG had Nate Thurmond--A fine center !!
Game and parties !! A fine tradition !!

At http://www.nycbuckets.com/cbicit-tracking/, Northwestern is listed as "Likely to decline" a bid. Is it because they are afraid to play us? Hmm.

The CBI bid is a nice one. Glad we are accepting. Better than the CIT.

This is really excellent "news," as Streak has some solid inside sources and unimpeachable accuracy.

This is a great step for program building. In addition to all the other factors mentioned before-- erasing the long run without of postseason play, giving the seniors a few more games, additional practice/competitiveness, prepping for next season, etc.-- it should help with better scheduling, building anticipation/attendance for next season, and getting a chance to reach 20 wins. It's not a peak or a triumph by any means, but it's another building block and benchmark. And I think the team is playing at a point where we could make a nice run.

Really happy to see is in the CBI. I was getting a little nervous we had turned down a bid as time went on. This is a good development point for us and some clear progress is being made. When I was a freshman I predicted we would make postseason by the time I graduated so I'm happy to see it happen with a year to spare.
