Congrats to the Ramblers! Custer is a huge get in my mind. A 4* top 100 player is equivalent to the very best players Gregg Marshall has signed at WSU (including VanVleet). My understanding is that he isn't particularly athletic, but works hard and is a cerebral student of the game, able to make those around him better. He's also supposed to be a good scorer. He probably didn't fit in with the style of play ISU runs with it's frantic up and down pace, but he should be one of the best PGs in the Valley as soon as he steps on the court.

How are things coming in the big man department? A little size could help Loyola tremendously next year.

Thanks wufan!

We have a 6'9" JUCO center from Coffeyville coming in who redshirted his freshman year at Virginia Tech before transferring. He has three years' eligibility. He looks to be a good rebounder and decent scorer. I expect him to start and play 20-25 minutes. (Maurice Kirby)

We also recruited a 6'7" forward from Fishburn Prep (Pernell Adgei) who looks to be very athletic but a little lacking in basketball skills. He has a high upside, but I don't expect him to contribute much next year.

We have one scholarship left which I expect will be used for a three or four. One rumor floating around is that we have our sights on an Australian big. Another possibility is a local 6'7" small forward who was a 1st team all-stater that recently decommitted from Buffalo after the coach moved on. (Nate Navigato).

Great news on Kirby! Sounds like exactly the right type of player to push Loyola up another notch.

Huge huge get! Agree with all the comments. Will be a great replacement when we lose 3 guards after next season...and - if he is as good as advertised - positions LU for to really sell itself to other 2016 recruits with a very sold core. Great way to kick off that recruiting class.

Dare I say this? Let's hope he is better - and stays longer - than another highly touted point guard that transferred from a major Iowa school a couple of years ago. I think he will be.

Loyola press release on Custer's transfer:

No mention of the pivotal role played by swellafelon. Disappointed, but not surprised...

Knuth when he's sporting some chin whiskers does a spot on Maynard G. Krebs:

Ingram looks a little "tired". Every time I have talked to him he was high energy.
