DEpaul took out a full page color ad in the Trib today. Do not know if they did the same in the Sun Times. Anyway got me to thinking how do we market going ahead, I would be happy to target getting the Alumni back on Campus. If I am correct there are 85,000 LU alum in the Chicago area. However I do not see anything wrong with a congratulations to the CBI champs.....probably a little too late. But if the Trib wont give us any publicity maybe we gotta buy it.

I can't imagine that's worth the cost.

Good for DePaul. I also don't think it's worth the cost. Especially right now.

Who says Loyola doesn't get any coverage from the Trib?

If the catering cart had been black, the campus cop probably would have shot it...

I like the way LUC spent their money--Tourney investment--PLUS we won it. Now maybe , just maybe we might have taken a congratulatory ad out post tourney win--Too late now in any case. DePewl's ad is about all it has HOOPS-wise at the moment. I do believe , now that we have a winner, folks will flow into Gentile , helped along with timely Press releases of course. Now then our VB success is also a help !

Shows how on top of it the Trib is. That video came out five days ago.

When they put it up on their site, it was under "Breaking News." At that point, the video had been out for a few days already.

Isn't it bizarre that newspapers think they can compete by becoming just as silly as-- yet much slower than-- the Internet?

For several years I ran the student newspaper at a small college, and I was shocked at the aversion to standard jouralistic practices. Forget about geting two accurate quotes, one was too much work. NOBODY wanted to write straight news stories. They wanted to train themselves for time-wasting click bait, celebrity news commentary, or hyperbolic opinion pieces. And here we are...
