Went to the game. Very sparse crowd. And a very large police presence for some reason. There was a Campus cop stationed on the floor under each gate, facing the crowd. I do not remember this level of security in years past. Maybe ISIS posted a threat against the Ramblers on their Facebook page. In any event, I found their presence had a chilling effect on my fan experience, especially when they all stared at me after I let out one of my YOU SUCK, REF shouts.
As for the game, Turk and Doyle played very well and James and Richardson were solid. The other returnees were mediocre. Rajala made only a token appearance in the first half, and sat the entire second half. Do not know what is up with that.
None of the newcomers were impressive. Smith performed the best. Adgei runs the floor well. Kirby disappointed.
I didn't notice extra security, but I did get asked for my ticket even though there were 1,000 people there and I think it was all $10 general admission.
Agree that Turk, Doyle, James looked the best (pretty obvious). But I thought Ingram and Peterson looked fine even though some shots didn't fall. We looked a little tired in the second half, which was concerning. Also of concern, our front line was 0-7 from the free throw line.
I'm excited to see Smith and Adgei develop. Kirby got pushed around under the basket way too much.
