After getting a bit depressed about previous posts about Seniors leaving, and possibly Doyle being done early....
What is the real recruiting potential of this program and conference. Does the Valley pull any top 100 kids?
How does the whole thing get done...
Anything needed to help the situation? Seriously, is it delusional to assume the program can get beyond our current level without pure luck?
Only asking, ever optimistic... Sitting in the dark.... Looking for help here.
I am firmly in PM's camp, and assume his abilities are not the limiting factor. Are there any kids who can see themselves being the cornerstone of a program, rather than simply going to the NAME schools just because?
Looking for some feedback here. Thanks

First of all let me write this----LOYOLA CHGO IS a NAME University, both academically and Hoops. It merely lost its way for one reason or another. The so-called "Power teamshave relegated us to "minor status"with the help of the front runner Media. Chgo Media is a prime mover in this area. This of course makes it difficult for Porter and his team to rise, I do believe he is one who can get us back up. He is amassing some good players--this bunch while lacking height is on its way to bigger things. The only weakness I see in Porter is he does NOT seem to get BIGS. Our competition gets talented BIGS--Why cannot we ? Having said that , I feel PM is the one who will bring us back. If not, then, he will be a goner ( We did not hire a first rate AD merely to fill a chair.)
PM and this team will force the media to report on our doings, by winning and winning a lot--starting with next game.
I see only these weaknesses--
--Lack of good bigs--what we have could develop
--Absolutely horrible FAN support both students and Chicagoans--It is a disgrace but fixable with wins over a good schedule of teams.
Our present team is starting to jell--Just watch.

It is interesting. ALmost the whole MVC recruits two stars. Dont know if this is because they assume they cant get the 3s (Wichita State the exception). We have gone after some big fish however and looked like we had one in Marlin Jones of Orr high school. This year we were after a 4 star from Simeon , Zach Norvell who ended up committing to Gonzaga, we also got close to Sean Omara who i at Xavier who was a 3 star. We are currently recruiting 2 3 star players from the 2017 class. ONe player from Belleville Illinois the other from Jacobs High School n Algonquin. We also got on the rebound a 3 star from Iowa State who will be eligible next year.
It seems two years out we try and recruit some of the 3stars and sometimes 4 Like Tyler Ulis who is now at Kentucky but as they head for what they think our the bigger basketball schools we head to our second list.
It really seems like a chicken and egg kind of deal....... But no doubt we really need to get a couple of top recruits and make either the NIT or back to the NCAA to really gather big time momentum

http://www.verbalcommits.com/ is a good site to follow recruiting.
