all things considered this group plays extremely hard. THey need to do a lot of things correctly to win and in some cases I dont think that will be enough. THey will have to cut down on turnovers and shoot better from 3 and somehow not get killed on the offensive boards. I dont want to be critical as everything I hear about these kids is that they really are kids that represent the U extremely well....however we ended up in a situation where we do not have enough presence down low. As well and as hard as Montell James plays we really are a 4 guard offense and mostly off guards at that. I just hope they do not get discouraged and continue to play hard.

I thought that the ball had to hit the rim before the shot clock expired. On the desperation 3 near the end of the game, the clock clearly expired before the ball went through the basket, so I would think that's a violation. What's the rule?

It's when the ball leaves the shooter's hand, like with the game clock.

We just are not big enough, but we are slow -- as others have said . We try we try hard BUT that is just not good enough. We shot better (except for threes ), but without Milt we just are a less than good team. PM must get these guys to rely on themselves until when and IF Milt returns to being MILT !

Even with the Bears win this night I still say we win the next two.

Great effort by the team, better than the other two conference losses. Overall I was very pleased with the effort, the strategy, and the execution. There were stretches of two or three minutes in each half where I didn't like the group that was out on the floor (only one starter or senior on the court?) when we had chances to press the lead or climb back, but the coach knows a lot better what's in the tank than I would.

The small things... I would have made getting to the line a slightly bigger emphasis. I think the level of emphasis we had almost got us a win. We need to use that more in certain games. We shot great from two, but couldn't get off any clear shots for three, not even on trailers or from penetration. Maybe need to work on screens for Turk and Richardson?

I was encouraged by the performance, even though it was a loss. I think if we match this effort and execution, we could beat them in Chicago, and maybe get up to 6-7 conference wins.

BUT JOHN , Oxen Ball ?? That is what it was--a regression ! Sad to say. Every thing you write is correct, but without Milt we have little and I mean little in all ways going for us !! Been there done that.
