Great win for the team...and MUCH needed. Very tough to get a win there and we held them to their lowest ever point total at McLeod Center!

Tuesday night will be a real tough game as Evansville is looking every bit as good as Wichita thus far but hopefully we bring out pissed off attitude and make it a close game.

The goal right now should be to avoid Thursday. It will be tough, but possible.

Awesome win. We were due for a little luck, too, after losing the last three games by a total of five points...

AN UPSET !! Well, well, well !!
I must hand it to ALL the RAMBLERS--These guys played Temple-like D--I guess maybe I should call it RAMBLER D--
I wager we out-boarded them--maybe not but close--AND That what starts it as we all know.
MILT and Montell were superb. James best game this year I think
Richardson's late off balance three was the dagger I believe.

BTW it did appear to me that we did not move our offense until we burned 8 to 10 seconds off the clock--Oxen at its finest.

You do NOT often win at No IOWA---Have we ever--before this one of course ???

We actually put a team away LATE !! Biggest margin at the end.

This is almost typical Loyola. Lose a bunch of games that we're shook to win and then win when we're supposed to lose. I hope this isn't a one game fluke.

Holding Washpun to four points on 2 of 10 shooting with ZERO assists is pretty good. And yes, we out rebounded them 37 to 31.

A good outcome for the Ramblers today. Looking forward I see us finishing 6-12, 7-11 or 8-10 in the Valley. We are 7-10 and 1-5 currently.

Taking my best possible outcome, 8-10 we would be 14-15 going into the MVC Tournament. At 7-11 we would be 13-16. At 6-12 we wold be 12-17.

That is a major difference for a post-season tourney. At 6-12 or 7-11 we would likely need to win the Valley tourney for any post-season tourney (NCAA only option). At 8-10 we open up the CBI/CIT/Vegas 16 chances.

At this point there are four post-season options still on the table
1. NCAA automatic bid (any record)
2. Vegas 16 (likely need 7 reg. season wins and 1 post-season or 8 wins in reg. season)
3. CBI (same)
4. CIT (same)

So while most on here will be disappointed with a CBI/CIT/Vegas 16 bid, that is Loyola's only chance absent an automatic NCAA bid. The NIT chance is long gone.

Question is can we get 7 more regular season wins?

I've stopped paying attention to the RPI for the Ramblers this year. Because, in my mind, it's pointless. We're not going to get high enough to get an at large NCAA bid, and we're not going to get an NIT bid. We were in the CBI last year, so anything beyond the top two doesn't excite me. In other words, a great season is winning the MVC tournament. Beyond that, meh. The only plus for a minor tournament would give the seniors an extra few games.
