We get unsettled idk how it consistently happens but it does. We start to have really bad possessions leading to bad shots.

So when do we start calling Thursday night "Loyola Night"?

It seemed like it was way too easy for them to get the ball in the paint and drive to the basket, and our offense just looked lost the last 10 minutes. Not a good combination.

Not until Drake starts winning more than 4 games.

Bradley has played on Thursday every year since 2011. Drake has played on Thursday every year since 2009.

We did well to avoid it last year but it looks like we will be joining them this year. What a disappointing loss.

I just dont think this team deserves much criticism. They play hard do a lot of things well. They just are at a severe physical , height disadvantage. They got outrebounded 32 to 19 tonight. As we got closer to the end and we are a little tired we get beat worse on the boards. Illinois State noticed their advantage and took it to us. They isolated the man with the height advantage and just pounded the ball inside. We did a great job of hustling to double team the post and they countered with skip passes till they got the one on one inside plus it got us out of rebounding postition. We tried a little zone to keep it out of the post but really couldnt rebound out of this. If there is anything to blame it is not have gotten a big man who could play post defense and rebound. Dont know how that happened but it has left us at a competitive disadvantage against teams with more than one competent player inside. <Montell James does a great job for someone his size but sometimes it is not enough and the kid from ISU McClintock I believe was a man among skinny boys. LU just has to play almost perfect games to overcome this. Rajala has some skills but is not a physical presence...Mabye next year......maybe Kirby will develop by next year.....he has the frame but does not move well. ISU had at least 3 players taller and more physical than our regular line-up
ALso I think Coach Moser is doing a good job. Their defensive plan is always solid and offensively they are trying to push the ball as much as possible to get some easier shots and some open 3s for shooters....but they need to hit them..tonight 9/23 which is solid.......They also have to have more assists than turnovers.....
Anyway I enjoyed watching these guys play tonight and wish they could have got the W........so Go Ramblers/

Rajala is definitely improving, and it'll be interesting to see how he progresses the next few years. I noticed at one point he made a pretty strong move to the basket, which hasn't been his forte...he missed the layup, but Moser called him over after to tell him good job. He's a work in progress, but definitely working to improve.

Very disappointing to squander a nine point second half lead. I think we had a good effort. The crowd looked and sounded like probably 40% ISU fans. I think I'd have to credit this loss to an unwise game plan. The tempo was way too fast for our players, especially given the height and muscle disadvantage. They outrebounded us 32-19, they took 10 more free throws than us, and they shot 50% on threes. That's what happens when you get into a run and gun game with a team that does it so much more often than you do, and has taller (and longer) finishers and rebounders. Offensive rebounds were 12 to 5, but they only missed 20 of 48 total shots! So they got an offensive rebound on more than half their misses. Second chance points were 15 to 5. The only reason the rebounding disadvantage was only 32-19 was both teams shot 50% or better.
