I would hope the Selection Committee takes into account the Shockers body of work over the VanVleet/Baker/Wessel Era. Given they are seniors and represent what is good in college basketball, I'd like to see them get one last trip to the rodeo. Needless to say, it's in The Valley's best interest. As much as I'd like to see Evansville win today, UNI has proven that they can do serious damage to very good teams this year. I still don't know why Evansville can have a pimp for a mascot, but we can't have a hobo. SMH - It just doesn't make sense.

Oh, and I'm not making fun of the kid crying. Hey, we know what it feels like to lose. On the other hand, some of us don't know what it feels like to win either. Just thought it summed-up the proceedings from Saturday.

I was glad to see Northern Iowa beat the Shockers and I hope the Shockers do not get an NCAA bid. They have been making a lot of arrogant noise so a little come uppance is in order.

I think Shocker fans are what happens when all you care about is winning. At the ALumni gathering after the Bradley win it was obvious in Coach Mosers' speech that he was extremely proud of this team for their character as well as their athletic ability, that they were carrying the LU philosophy with them. As much as I want to win I hope as a fan base we never lose site of those things that are as important as winning. We should be every bit as proud of how our athletes have achieved in the classroom. We were ahead of Northwestern for Chs sake. The rage from the WS fans when we were winning was kind of scary. I do not know much about their team but ROn Baker is a class act.You could see that he respected the LU effort and visibly congratulated our players.

Side note WS was 2 for 22 from 3 point range yesterday. Tired legs from the LU game.

Regardless of who represents us in the Big Dance, what a game! Man Evansville is NOT going away!

Also rooting for Evansville. UNI was there last year.

P.S. Unbelievable ending. Did you see it? Tie game... Washpun fires shot just before the buzzer.... bounces waaaaayyyy up to the top of the glass, light turns red from time running out, and ball bounces into the hoop.

Wanted to see Evansville make it, but congrats to UNI. A team we beat, twice. A great game and ending for the MVC to be on CBS on a Sunday afternoon.

I couldn't help but think how similar that Washpun shot was to Doyle's shot that would've won that Evansville game for us. A reminder of our season. Just an inch or so difference could've made things a lot different. As Hall & Oates once said: So close, yet so far away.

Announcers kept saying how UNI was 9-1 over there last 10 games. That 1 loss must've been to a great team.

Another of our opponents, a team a lot of us cringed at when we lost to them, is closing in on an NCAA berth: UNC-Asheville.

Since we've been in the league, the conference tournament has gone to the 1, 2, and 5 seeds.

Can't help but really regret that five game stretch to start the conference season season--- completely flat-footed and lacking energy-- dug our grave year. It's particularly evident when a 5 seed (what we were expected to be in the preseason poll) that you swept home and away during the season wins the auto bid.

Congrats to UNI. Can't help but feel bad for Evansville. The game looked great on TV for the MVC and couldn't have been more exciting-- proving life goes on without the Shockers.
