This shows me that Porter is going for it all now. He has 2 years left and is going to make the most of it. Some have said they don;t see him finishing his contract...that's not the impression I get. Porter is going to finish out this contract and be gone or he'll get more years at the end of it all.

Now, the caveat to that is if we win next year. Watson would want to tie him up in that case.

Go how many games would we need to win for you to approve of a contract extension?

This is Bryan Mullins first recruit or first one I remember so congrats to him and it is nice to see the coaching staff develop.

Next year? We would need to be top 3 in conference. If he got usnto the dance, I think you resign him.

Otherwise, let him play out the remaining year.

Huge pick up. We really needed a big man with some experience and with some scoring ability. Not let's hope we get some nice development out of Julius so - dare I say - we may have 2 decent big men on the floor at the same time?

You can't have too much post depth. Especially with how the Valley is officiated inside.

I would think 20 wins at Arch Madness and an NIT would be quite enough to earn an extension. That is possible to do while finishing as low as fifth in this conference providing you don't have any bad losses in non-con. Next season is going to be a very even and competitive conference race, I think-- WSU will be a bit closer to the league average, Drake and Bradley will be much improved, UNI and Evansville will be re-tooling, and SIU loses one of their all time biggest scorers. If Andres can contribute a lot right away on the inside, if Custer is as good as advertised, and if Doyle and Ingram can live up to potential with more consistency, I could see us in the top 3, probably with MSU and ISUr.

The process of changing coaches almost always comes with 1-2 years of misery in adjustment, years where attendance drops (unless you've got a huge name coming in), the rebuilding clock is set back, and the roster is regenerated. But I don't know if any "rules" apply at Loyola-- we've got a women's basketball Hall of Famer coaching before crowds of 250 people; a back-to-back NCAA championship men's volleyball team still ranked and only pulling in 440 or so per match, and a home men's basketball attendance about 65% of what it was in 2010 despite a move to a much better overall league.

I really think we need a broadcasting crew back again, and some kind of radio presence, even it it is low power WLUW or similar.

JCT ... when you talk about the new guys - Andres, Custer combined with Doyle, Ingram and the others, I'm starting to already get psyched for next season ...talk me down ... as a Rambler fan for 38 years now I don't know how much more disappointment I can take!!

You must understand 83, you are just a kid !!!! Try 1947 !!! One thing though, we used to win against top competition !! And THAT is why I am so impatient with Porter and the Admin !!
