Few recruiting updates:

Sounds like we will be hosting Drew Peterson of Libertyville (the IL Wolves) this weekend on an unofficial. If you listen to the Roy Schmidt an offer can be expected (and he'll remind you 3 times that he predicted it if correct).

Furthermore Jimmy Sotos, a player we offered and teammate of Cam Krutwigs committed to Bucknell (who've been to the NIT the past two years!?). Some have floated his name on the board as a potential Rambler fit.

If I had to guess we're down to Evan Gilyard, Christian Negron, and Sasha Stefanovic (we're in his final five and watched him as recently as Sept. 9th https://twitter.com/INBBallSource/statu ... 2859577344) for potential players next year.

I have mixed emotions about us recruiting Drew Peterson.

On the one hand, he's a tall and talented 2 guard who shoots a high percentage and is ranked in the top 10 in his Illinois class.

On the other hand, he is serving a life sentence for murdering his wife, is suspected of murdering another wife, and was recently convicted of plotting the murder of the prosecutor who put him away.

He sounds like he would be a better fit for the ISU Redbirds.

Peterson received an offer on his visit this weekend.

It also looks like Evan Gilyard committed to Tim Floyd at UTEP. Kinda bummed we were unable to pick him up.

That, and he already played for the Ramblers in the late 90's

In the past Henricksen reports have been pretty dead on for us. I think we're gonna land Negron. HUGE pickup if so. And crazy bright future down low for the Ramblers if we do with him and Krutwig teaming up for 4 years.

That would be great if we signed Negron, but it puts us one over the scholarship limit for next year.
My guess is that Maurice Kirby will graduate this year and transfer, maybe to join his brother Devin at Montana State for his final year of eligibility.

If Porter decides to sign a third Class of 2017 prospect (undoubtedly a guard) my guess is that Tyson Smith will leave to make room. Tyson might also qualify as a graduate transfer .

2018 is gonna be a huge recruiting class for us as we will be out our current crop of juniors + Custer if he chooses to graduate.

Drew Peterson is a kid who's rising in recruiting circles; also another local kid playing in the suburbs. He took an unofficial to Michigan before the start of his Junior year. We've already offered so i'm guessing Porter is all in on him. Same recruiting method we used with Krutwig, Chastain, and Negron; hopefully it pays off.
