Anyone have thoughts on season opener starting line up?

Custer
Richardson
Doyle
toss up between Jackson/Ingram
Granic...?

With heaviest bench minutes coming from Ingram, Chastain, and Skokna. This prediction could totally change after the scrimmage tonight though.

Doyle, Custer, Richardson, Jackson and Kirby.
Just came back from Maroon and Gold scrimmage.
Kirby by far most improved. Lots of depth.
Very impressed with Satherwaite and Bruno.
Finding minutes for all will be tough.
Kirby looks like he could be a force.
Didn't see Chastian but for a few minutes.
Sadly there were less than 50 fans watching.

My original guess was Custer, Richardson, Doyle, Ingram, and Granic, but if with the report above about Kirby, I'll put him in there instead of Granic. I also think you can have 4-5 guys off the bench.

I couldn't make it to the scrimmage, but I'm wondering how Tyson looked. Previously, we thought he could be fully healthy by about this time. Is that still the case or does he need a little more time until he's 100%?

Tyson was dressed but didn't play.

Just a brief comment on the scrimmage. The best player on the court was Marques Townes, who is sitting out this year after transferring. The guy is a bull who seemingly can get to the hoop at will. He played with the walkons the second half and single handedly kept them even with the rotation players.

I was also impressed with Bruno. He is a good athlete who handles and passes the ball well. Has a nice stroke. Looks like he would thrive in an uptempo game.

On the other hand, Igor is definitely a work in progress and looked overmatched at times, particularly under the basket.

Could that have been because of his lazy eye and humped back?

Couldn't you tell by my tone that I'm in my SERIOUS basketball-talk mode?

More scrimmage stuff.

I didn't really see any quantum leaps forward for any of the returnees. Milt didn't look that much bigger, maybe a smidge. Mo was a little more aggressive on offense and hit a couple of nice jump hooks. His hands are still suspect.

Clay was solid, if not spectacular. He sees the floor well and is a calming influence. Not an explosive athlete. I believe he found his right level in the MVC.

Satterwhite hit a couple threes early. Chastain looked like he was more concerned about being in the right place and not making mistakes than playing creatively. This is fine for where he is in his career, but I hope Moser loosens the leash some after he learns the offense.
Vlatko was a little smaller and lighter than I imagined.

One notable things was the high number of travelling violations the refs called
Moser and the refs had a discussion where one ref was demonstrating footwork which looked like he was doing the cha cha cha.
I wonder if maintaining your pivot foot before initiating a move is a rules point of emphasis this year?
One more thing. I got there early and watchef some of their normal practice. Moser was working on a zone defense, I think a 3-2. I hope he plays some during the season. It suits our roster, with the number of lanky wing players and lack of bigs.
