I didn't realize this, but I guess the signing period starts today. From Henricksen in the S-T:

Biggest local winner: Loyola

Coach Porter Moser’s Loyola program cleaned up locally by securing commitments from Cameron Krutwig of Jacobs and Christian Negron of Larkin. Both were highly regarded frontcourt players and among the top seniors in Illinois.

With his big body on the block, great hands, tremendous passing ability and touch around the rim and facing up to the basket, the 6-9 Krutwig is the type of true big man you can do so much with offensively.

Although Negron suffered a torn ACL this fall and will unfortunately miss his senior season, the 6-6 forward will bring length, athleticism and a high-running motor to Loyola. Negron, who received a number of high-major offers during the recruiting process, averaged 16 points, 11.8 rebounds and 4.2 blocks a game as a junior.

***

Hopefully we get those letters of intent soon!

I'm confused. I thought the early signing period started tomorrow, Nov. 9.

Maybe they moved it up a day thinking the world might end tonight if Trump wins.

Message from Porter:

Today is a huge day for Loyola Men's Basketball! I'm thrilled to announce the signing of two Chicago-area stars Cameron Krutwig from Jacobs High School in Algonquin and Christian Negron of Larkin High School in Elgin to National Letters of Intent.

To get two players of combined character and talent from our home state is a watershed moment for our program. Cam and Christian know each other and will undoubtedly complement one another. They both have said how much they want to be part of the team that gets us back to a championship level and we all share an unwavering passion to bring a title to Loyola!

Krutwig is a skilled 6'9 center who averaged 17.7 points and 12.2 rebounds per game last season. Cam is a true big man with size, strength, and a tremendous skill level. He is an elite passer and one of the things I love about him is he is big man who truly loves the game.

Christian is a 6'6 forward who has an unrelenting will to win with an ability to play both in and out, a shot-blocking presence, and the ability to defend multiple positions. Negron put up 16.2 points and 11.8 rebounds for Larkin last year and also played for the Puerto Rican national team during the U18 FIBA Americas leading the team in both scoring and rebounding.

I couldn't be more excited for today, especially with the season starting this Friday night against Alcorn State. I look forward to seeing you at Gentile this weekend and all season long!

Thanks again for your support of Loyola Basketball!

Go Ramblers!

Porter Moser
Head Men's Basketball Coach
Loyola University Chicago

I wasn't worried after Gregg Marshall's tearful concession speech early this morning.

Let's make Loyola Basketball great again.

By the way, Porter uses more exclamation points than a teenage girl on Instagram!!!!!!!!!!
