Following this team is like riding a roller-coaster. They lose Chastain for the season, which is a real killer because we don't have a lot of height. Then they beat Washington State and nearly NC State-- so I'm thinking this could be a fantastic season. Then they lose Donte to a 4 week MCL, and I think beating SDSU is going to be near impossible. But they did it!

Now let's not have a let down with Wright State on Wednesday, OK? Please? Maybe it's time to re-calculate the odds on The Eight-Game Winning Streak™.

Trey "chucks up awful 3's on critical possessions" Kelly with a little shade after the game? Maybe i'm reading this wrong (and please tell me if i am) but c'mon man.

"Trey Kell: “They were ready to play. You could tell from the jump. We kind of came out kind of sluggish. There’s an old saying that if you give a team that confidence, they’ll be able to play with anybody. To this day we can say we’re better than them, but it doesn’t matter. We lost. They played better than us today.”"

Fun game, great atmosphere even with the stands only half full. With a capacity crowd and a large contingent of students (plus a winning team of course) the Joe would be a madhouse and a home court advantage to rival Cameron Fieldhouse.

After the game Moser was so pumped he looked ready to burst at the seams. He went into the student section to salute the fans and did the same with the band. His joy was genui e and contagious.

Scoreboard. We didn't exactly play the perfect game, either. Far from it. And their players looked pretty jacked and into it from my view. Too bad we couldn't play them at full strength and beat them by 15.

He let out a huge yell underneath the student section in the tunnel. I thought he was going to go full Hulk and rip his shirt off. It was great to witness.

01,
Were you at the game?

Next time you're able to get up to a game let me know. I'd like to meet you in person.

Best game I have been to in a long time. Love the atmosphere but this team deserves a bigger crowd. Come on students! Support this team!!

I was. first one I've been able to make this year, but I'm up here most Fridays for work so I should be at a lot of Saturday games. Next week is up in the air (I may have to be in Steve Fisher's hometown, oddly enough). My seats are right behind the scorer's table around mid court, so if you see someone down there come down and say hey.

Reading the SDSU message board is revealing. Most think this loss means they're NIT material. A few think we're an awesome juggernaut.

You know what I thought of today? I thought I saw in our team some of what I used to envy about Butler when they were our conference rivals. We played with swagger, confidence, focus, and energy. We knew we didn't have the physical attributes to beat a team like the one we faced, but we beat them with will, intensity, focus, and smarts.

I'm really feeling like maybe we HAVE turned the corner on what we've been referring to as "CULTURE" over the past several years. The way we played at NC State was the first time it struck me that we've got a winning attitude going (even though we lost that close game). I saw glimpses of it in 2014-15, the CBI year. We took a step back last year until Montel James took control at the end of the season to be the leader and hard-nosed inside guy, but by then it was too late to resurrect the season from the hole we dug.

Let's hope that we can push through and accomplish The Eight-Game Winning Streak™, because I really think that will establish us as an actual top team in the league.
