Couldn't agree more about Coach Moser. This guy should get an extension and good deal to stay at LU. Just sayin....
What are comparable MVC salaries?

Good question. Here's what I came up with:

1. Marshall, WSU - $3.3 million
2. Jacobson, UNI - $900,000
3. Dan Muller, ISUr - $401,000
4. Ray Giacoletti, formerly Drake - $400-450,000 (estimate
5. Barry Hinson, SIU - $250,000
6. Paul Lusk, MSU - $241,000
7. Brian Wardle, Brad - ???
8. Porter Moser LUC - ???
9. Greg Lansing, ISUb - $219,000 (2012)
10. Mary Simmons, Evanville - $180,000 (2010, reported as being lowest-paid in the MVC, but prior to Loyola joining)

Obviously, Loyola isn't paying 3G/Jake money, but I'd hope we are somewhere in the middle and that donors step up to keep Porter after we make the NCAA's!

Not that it is accurate to LU, but the Phoenix stated that Moser was the second highest paid employees behind the Dean of the law school.
I googled and the average, median, I believe, salary of law school deans is around $275K. FYI. Who has the authority to decide Coach Moser's renumeration?
Isn't it weird that the state of Illinois, which is obviously not doing well likely spends well over 1.5M for it's D-1 college basketball coaches? Again I extrapolated that based on Muller and Hinson, needing to add Campaign, Northern, Western, and isn't there another one or two? Maybe not.

It's a lot more than 1.5 mil for Illinois basketball coaches. John Groce alone makes more than 1.5. Until Lovie Smith came along Groce was the highest paid State employee. Which is the norm for States with major college programs. Lovie makes 2-3 times what Groce does. But also keep in mind these huge salaries generally come from the ability of the althletic departments to bring in big donor money.
