Our opponent on Saturday, UIC, plays at DePaul tonight on FS1. The Blue Demons are an 8 point favorite. In addition to being an opportunity to scout our next opponents, it might give a few clues as to how we could match up against league foes. DePaul beat Drake 77-75 on Nov. 30, and they beat Missouri State 68-66 on Nov. 23 DePaul also beat Milwaukee 77-59 on Nov. 20.

They still play about 1/2 their games there. The game against Missouri State was there.

Dikembe Dixson, UIC' s leading scorer, tweaked his knee in the dirt half and has been on the bench most of the game. He averages over 20 ppg, and has never played less than 23 minutes in any game in his career. He's got a current 27 game double digit scoring streak on the line.

It's a good thing they didn't play this game at Allstate Arena. The place is half empty. It's never good when a Loyola fan thinks your team's attendance is poor.

UIC just took the lead with with seven minutes to play. I can't figure out if UIC is good or DePaul is just bad.

The latter, IMHO

That inability to inbound the ball with 5.9 seconds left in a point in your favor.

UIC beats DePewl 80-75 without their best player for most of the game.

I wonder if Dixon will be able to play Saturday against the Ramblers?

Wow. It was pretty pathetic that they could not even get the ball in after a timeout. Depaul is just not a good basketball team. I really did not like how they were talking about how this was bragging rights to be the best team in Chicago. I'm pretty sure that will be a match decided on Saturday.

Looking ahead to UIC, we are going to have to play a great game to win. They seem to be pretty talented. Hopefully they will have a bit of a letdown after getting a win at DePaul and we can take advantage of that early. This seems like one of those games where I hope we pull ahead early and keep fighting them off. I do not want to have to try to come from behind in the last five minutes to beat these guys.

To be honest this game against UIC worries me a bit. I genuinely think McClain can have them in the top 3 of the horizon by next year. He's been recruiting EXTREMELY well compared to what I would think UIC could pull. They're young but talented. We have our guys coming off finals and UIC is surely feeling themselves after tonight. They also nearly upset GCU at home a notoriously difficult place to play.

I doubt Dixon plays against us tho. Feel really bad for the kid; he was openly in tears on the bench. He's a fantastic player and if he's out for extended time a massive loss. With him out my worries would be less severe. Watch out for their PG Marcus Ottey; he's EXPLOSIVE; Ramblers offered him tho idk how hard we recruited him.

We should win this game, for what it's worth DePaul is rough this year. But Saturday UIC may be fired up while we're coming off finals week. As long as we come out in the right mindset we'll take care of business, just can't take this team lightly; they'll make ya pay.

Also check out Chicago state giving NU a scare! City rivalry games can make thing interesting for sure.

I had a good time reading the DePaul message board last night. Cain is a stud, but they are a terrible team. I'd ask what Garrett was doing at the end of the game, but he did the same things that worked when they came back to barely beat Missouri State and Drake.

It's a good win for UIC (especially to come back and win without their best player), but DePaul would be a Thursday team in the MVC.

I think it could be a good game on Saturday, but I didn't see anything from UIC that made me fear them.
