I was going to resurrect JCT's old Eight-Game Winning Streak thread but I see he's locked it.

In looking at our schedule beginning with today's home game with Missouri State, I sense that we have a second opportunity to go on a long winning streak before we face another real obstacle in the Wichita State rematch on Feb. 12th, or Illinois State at their place.

Here's the schedule:

http://www.loyolaramblers.com/sports/m- ... sched.html

There are 8 winnable games before the Shockers come to Gentile. We should be favored in all our home games during that stretch. Of the road games, the toughest on paper is probably at Missouri State. I also think the game at Northern Iowa might be tough.

I know 8-0 is a long shot, but it is no more of a stretch than JCT's projection was the first time around. I would be disappointed if we don't go at least 6-2.

Kenpom odds are: 67, 51, 74, 85, 56, 41, 73, 48.

Edit: in fact there are just two remaining games in which he gives us less than a 40% chance to win. Current projection is 10-8. Of course, that will all change if we lay an egg today.

This might be the shortest 8 game winning streak EVER.

One down; seven to go.
Never a doubt.

A good scrappy win. But it only improved the Kenpom odds of the 8-game winning streak from 1.73% to 2.58%.

Looking on the bright side, the loss to UNI only reduced the odds of the Eight Game Winning Streak a negligible amount: From 2.58% to 0.00%.

If ever there was a time to start an eight game winning streak, it would be now.

Close out the conference season winning four in a row. Sweep through Arch Madness. Win a first round NCAA tournament game.

Whoa there!
YET I can see a possible run coming.
1st, take care of business tonight.
I would assume that SIU will lose, and that leaves LU and SIU at 7-8
tied for 4th, right?
Do we get Ill ST at a vulnerable time in the season?
I think so, BUT, can the Ramblers finally play a road game to completion? OR will they make it interesting
only to fall short again? Sooner or later that break thru game has to come our way. The players need to make it happen.
Stay tuned.....
Should be fun.
Go Ramblers....
