Christian Negron who's also coming next year is a post player as well. A bit undersized, but I've seen him at games and he's built very wide and strong, his body is kind of a hybrid between Aundre and Montel James. He's a high motor kid who will play bigger on the boards, especially in the valley where he should be able to thrive. Furthermore I wouldn't expect Porter to target many more high school post players until those two are juniors.
If i had to guess he will go to JUCO to add any additional size for the 18-19 season given the relative success hes' had doing so (in the last 3 years i believe all our big men have come from JUCO with the exception of Julius and Pernell who went to a prep school). JUCO recruiting is way more difficult to follow in my opinion, Aundre didn't even have a verbalcommits page but held several offers (Abilene Christian, UTA, Cleveland State, Western Illinois)...so i'm sure they're doing our diligence we just might not be able to see it!
The one player with size we have offered for the 18-19 class is 6-8 Gavin Pinkley, who at this place is more like a tall wing, but still growing in his game and may become more of a post threat soon. Overall I'd anticipate 2 JUCO bigs and 3 guards and a wing type for the next big recruiting class. A player i'd look for to be a steal out of that class is Javon Freeman out of Whitney Young. He transferred there this season and has been putting up nice numbers, we were his first offer and he has the makings of a CPS stud going into his senior year next season.
