here is a listing of the final two games excluding WSU, ISU and NIU.

Southern Illinois 8-8 Il State Loyola
Loyola 7-9 Drake Southern
Mo St 7-9 Bradley WSU
Evansville 5-11 WSU Ind St
Bradley 5-11 Mo St Drake
Drake 5-11 Loyola Bradley
Ind St 4-12 ------ -----

If I figured it right, if we beat Drake Wednesday, we cannot finish 7th.
If we lose to Drake and they beat Bradley, Drake would have tiebreaker with two wins against us if we also then lost to Southern since we would both be 7-11.

So that is the real danger scenario. Lets hope there is no let down Wednesday. Tough loss at ISU Sunday. Four of us made the trip and had great seats behind the bench. Porter drew up a great play and the Custer shot circled the net twice before careening out.

On the other hand if we win our last two, we could be ahead of Southern if they also lose against ISU.

Lots of interesting scenarios.

And I believe the 4/5 game is at noon Friday while the 3-6 game is at 8pm.
The 4/5 game is the bummer if you were planning on driving down Friday.

I thought the 1 seed played at noon and the 4/5 at 2:30

According to Hacksaw at MVCfans.com, after last night's drubbing by WSU, Evansville joins ISUb and Bradley as Thursday night locks.

The only teams teetering on the Thursday/Friday precipice right now are Loyola and Drake. Drake can get the #6 seed and kick us to Thursday by winning its last two games and Loyola losing our last two. In other words, if we win tonight, we're guaranteed to play Friday.

The most likely scenario for us is the #5. We're heavy favorites tonight and slight favorites (as of now) at SIU. If it comes down to RPI, we are fairly comfortably ahead of MSU and slightly behind SIU.

BUT HUNTY we have to play these last two games . I mean PLAY !! I do believe we shall as we have hustled all year long ! No way there will be a letdown now

I believe we are better than both these last two teams BUT SIU has who I believe is the best coach in the Valley Porter exception here !!

Looking at WSU vs ILSr, the RPI puts ILr ahead handily, yet Sagarin and Ken Pom see it clearly the other way with WSU the better team. Having watched them both all season, I agree with Sagarin and KenPom. Not that anyone is asking me. I don't think WSU will get knocked out by anyone but LU. I also think that if we get ILSr again, we would prevail. Beating them both, however, seems a long shot. BUT, only we have Sr. Jean on our side. It would be nice to see someone KO either WSU or ILSr before we play one of them.
AND OF COURSE, we first need to get tonights game right. Personally I would go for the throat, full out to set it straight that the first match with Drake was a bad dream, and that the last game last year with Drake was also a very bad dream. LU needs to put the Drake nightmare to rest for good going into next season. Hope to be back here tomorrow with a BIG smile on all Ramblermaniacs.
