I honestly think both his and his wife's behavior might cost him a P5 job. There are a lot of convenient excuses regarding him not getting the Indiana job this offseason (i.e. Alford wants it, the fanbase wants the hometown kid, Marshall doesn't want to leave this year because WSU returns a good team), but a school (especially one with Indiana's history) will most certainly wonder whether that shtick will fly there. Could you imagine if Marshall gets the UCLA job? Sure he's a great coach, but the spotlight there might eat that family alive.

Some IU fans want Alford, but many I know do NOT want him. They remember all to well his Iowa days and issues there. Those same fans worshipped B. Knight. ... Marshall is nothing compared to that.

People make asses of themselves all the time especially on tv. Hey, his wife is a strong advocate and I respect that as long as she does not bother the people around her. I presume with the seat and the section she was in is where other fanatics and diehards were sitting. So what the big deal? Hey, Marshall has done a great job at Wichita. I would like to see him and the Shockers stay in the Valley.
But if they can find a greater success somewhere else I respect them acting in their best interests.

Actually what I found more irritating was the Northwestern game where the camera kept cutting away to that hysterical,cry baby kid.
His antics were very annoying but also very distressful as it appeared he had a few loose screws. I know the kids name but out of respect for a kid, I am not mentioning his name. I do think though that his parents should have the kid see a therapist. Really, it was a constant crying not just a one time event. I think the kid has some real scary issues.

The Northwestern kid is just a kid though. She's a grown woman who has to have some type of grasp of the celebrity she & her husband are in Wichita.

The thing that most Kentucky fans were bringing up is imagine the hype if Mrs. Calipari acted like that? Imagine if Calipari blew a gasket in an exhibition game like Marshall? WSU might get jobbed by the selection committee year-in, year-out, but the luxury that comes with it is you get to fly under the radar in terms of your actions. If Marshall wants a blue-chip job, there's no flying under the radar. The days of Bob Knight flying off the handle and administrators trying to appease them are long gone. He'll win on the court, but headaches off it are by no means guaranteed with them. At his price tag, any administrator is going to have to make sure that 1.) they're comfortable with the Marshalls and all the baggage they could potentially bring and 2.) the Marshalls know what they're getting into.

That kid is the son of the athletic director..Jim Phillips........They seem to have gotten a kick out of it and are over it.......I think the Marshall thing is no big thing as long as it is not an indicator of long term alcohol use...
