I am just as HUGE a Rambler fan as most on this site. I LOVE so much about Milton; personally and as a player. He was the best I've seen in many years at LUC. But, that's one of the reasons we love him. He's ours. His game is full of holes even at the MVC level. Great Loyola player, good MVC player. No way and NBAer and zero chance of being drafted. He will sign as a free agent and be an early cut. Most on this site have long over estimated his real abilities. Yes, I love him but let's be honest.

Ahunte1 and I sat next to each other at Milt's first college game against UW-Milwaukee in November 2013. He came in off the bench at about the first time out. The first time he made a play, I looked at ahunte1, and he looked back and me, and we both had the "Wow, this guy looks surprisingly good!" look on our faces. That look came from the fact that on sheer athletics-- specifically quickness, length, first step, vertical leap, etc.-- he was a better total package than almost every other player at Loyola since the late 1980s. He actually reminded me of the kind of players they recruit at Florida State, VCU, and Dayton-- long, on the skinny side, versatile, good coordination and passing, and great athletes. Those guys create incredible matchup problems-- especially in college-- because they have guard ball handling skills and speed, and the wingspan and vertical leaping stats of a power forward.

The torn labrum diagnosis and the ankle injury in his sophomore year was a killer. I think it affected his confidence in himself. The type of player he developed into after that was very different than the one he appeared headed for. He went from a guy who had tremendous confidence in shaking a defender and finishing at the hoop to more of a passer, enabler, defender, three point shooter, and court leader. Do I think he could be a contributor on an NBA roster somewhere? Absolutely-- because he knows how to use what skills he has, and he has a lot, in terms of spacing, defense, passing, and court leadership.

If that doesn't work out and if he's willing to live in Europe (he seems now like he's able to do that comfortably, whereas three years ago he didn't), he can make a great living at a relatively high basketball level for many years. And he seems like the kind of guy who will make the most of it financially (in terms of being frugal and well managed with his money). Maybe that injury also made him aware that the whole show could end at any time on some stupid, meaningless play.

Zero chance he can play in the NBA.

Decent in Europe but not a standout. Likely 6-7 guy.

I understand that we are biased, but the odds of playing are definitely greater than 0. Teams don't work a guy out for the fun of it. They obviously see something in him, and think he might have a shot at eventually making it. I'm not saying he will be a starter or be a guy who comes off the bench every game, but a lot more players play in the NBA than you might think. NBA teams sign guys to a 10-day contract. Some of those players are only up for 10 days in they're life, but they are an NBA player.

I remembered seeing something on David Nwaba (6'4" guard), and ended up looking him up. He played at Cal Poly, and his best year was his senior year when he averaged 12.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.2 steals and was named All-Big West Honorable mention. Went undrafted, and didn't even sign with an NBA team. Tried out and made a D-League team who later traded him. Near the end of the year, the Lakers signed him to a 10-day contract twice. He eventually signed a long-term contract, and was sent back down to the D-League.

I think Milt put up better stats this year (15.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.7 steals) in a tougher league. I'm not saying he 100% will make it, but if Nwaba did, I don't see why Milton can't. Some great college players never see the NBA, and some average ones do. I've learned to never write someone off. I hope he gets to play in the NBA, and if he ends up playing his whole career elsewhere, I hope it's fulfilling and long-lasting.

Milt have Lakers on schedule for the 11th and Brooklyn the 15th for workouts...

I'll share this also, after the Houston workout, the question was asked...

WHY HE DIDN'T STAY AT KANSAS!

Thanks so much for the update Birdie, that's awesome to hear! I know we're all pulling for him, and I can't wait to buy my Doyle jersey with whatever pro team he ends up on!
