I was able to go to two home games last year and thinking that this might be a good year. The team looks improved and the schedule should also be an upgrade. North Carolina State will be a great home game.

I read alot of the comments on Ramblermania and agree that we should get rid of the non D1 games.

In that light I wondered what all of you think of the season ticket plans. Are they a good deal or should I just wait and get tickets for the games I can attend. Also when do season tickets go on sale. I could not find a schedule anywhere so I know I have time

I think it's a great value. It's 1/2 or less the cost of any professional sporting event, about equal to a movie. The Gentile Arena doesn't have a bad seat i the building, there are some very good restaurants and bars within walking distance, and it's accessible by El.
I still can't understand how we don't have 3000 season ticket holders.

If my inference that the 2016 in your username refers to your graduation year, then you'll be eligible for the GOLD (Graduates Of the Last Decade) season ticket plan, which is discounted from a regular season ticket plan. It's a really good deal, even if you know you're going to miss a game or two because of weather or other plans.

As to JCT's point, I think a few things are holding us back in terms of lack of season tickets: mainly marketing (duh) and quality of the on-court product of both the home team and the opponent. Even though it's cheap, we haven't had a lot of success over the last 30 years and it also doesn't help that we pad our schedule. The average LU team over the past 30 years has been in the lower half of a mid-major conference; so why see a lesser mid-major beat up on a WAC team or a D3 school? The 1 thing that I am holding out over is the schedule. We still have 3 open dates left, but we already have a decently robust home schedule. If we continue the cupcake non D1 scheduling, then I'll buy a flex pack or individual tickets in protest.

At this point I think the team is good enough on its own to justify attending games. There were glimpses of it last year especially when the offense was clicking. The teams got more talent this year and I think most of us expect them to really compete.

It also supports the program so in a way it gives you a bit more investment and sense that your helping the cause!

I'm not saying I'm not going to support them (I'll make plenty of games) or I don't expect them to compete (I honestly think making the NCAA tournament is a super realistic goal for the first time in years for this program). It's just that I expect the program (which has had plenty of flaws in the past few seasons despite the improvement) to make changes in an attempt to to better itself before I buy seasons.

First of all, welcome to the board, 16!

The only constant is change, but generally, renewals go out in July/August and new sales are available shortly thereafter. As mentioned previously, there have been discounts for young alums. Also, the per game cost is generally a significant savings over buying individual tickets.

I highly encourage anyone who is thinking about it to the the plunge and get season tickets. I have had them since Porter's first year, and its been a blast. There are a lot of chances to meet players, parents, staff, and coaches which makes me feel connected to the program.

Secondly, the bottom line is we need as many season ticket holders as we can get. We need butts in seats and donations in the budget. Jump in!

If you have questions, call or email Brian Day in the ticket office and he will take care of you.

I respect this position. I suspect that both the majority of posters here and casual fans alike feel the same.

I'm not usually one to be an early adopter, but in this case a small commitment to the program can make a big difference. This is not a sales pitch (again, I totally get sheets you're coming from) it's just that the team needs you as much for the winter break Wednesday night game against Cleveland State as they do for the marquee game against whoever the new Wichita is.

Oh don't get me wrong! I didn't think you were saying you weren't gonna support them. I was just giving my personal opinion. Ahunte also brings up a good point on other perks like open practices for season ticket holders.

@ahunte1, you must mean the preseason scrimmage where we play ourselves, as we will be the "new Wichita"
