James Moores, 6'9 Forward, out of Auckland New Zealand

Listed as a power forward but plays it like the wing. He's an interesting player. He's really tall but has some ability to put it on the floor and shoot off the dribble, he can shoot the 3, and he's athletic enough to dunk. He was the MVP at the U17 nationals so he's played well against a higher level of competition before. Ultimately it's hard to say though. The last player from New Zealand we looked at was Bradley's Callum Barker, who looked to have some potential as a freshmen but has fallen way behind on their roster, mostly due to athletic ability (from what i've heard from Bradley fans his foot speed is too slow). We've obviously recruited international bigs before in the past, but this kid seems further along than any of those players.

Actually, Barker is from Tasmania in Australia.

Watched some video of Moors. As blers said, he is more of a wing than an inside player. I think he has potential and is a better prospect tham McMurray.

Good call Swella! I got mixed up on Barker. I also agree and like him as a prospect more than McMurray. In terms of bigs, I think our best offer out is Heiman. It'll be interesting though, recruiting a good center out of high school may prove to be more difficult with Krutwig in place. They're in high demand and potentially having a starter in front of you for 3 seasons could deter some (at least for this recruiting cycle).

Krutwig will be a lottery pick after his sophomore year so recruits won't have to worry about that.

I like this guy's game. Looks mobile and seems to have good hands. I didn't see him drop a single pass!

Sounds like a description of Nate Buss from UNI.

Ahunte brings up a pretty good point here; lets say top 3 though, have some confidence!

Also; here's a better look at Tray Jackson; a 6'7' forward we recently offered; he's gotten a lot of social media love so he may be becoming a priority. Really like what i'm seeing based on the tape: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKDq0uTiI1Q. Reminds me a bit of Montel; just more mobile but not as strong under the basket.

Also noted, Xavier Pinson a 6'3 PG out of Simeon. It wan't listed anywhere I've seen that we offered him, but he tweeted a picture of schools that are interested and have offered him, Loyola included (interest presumably). Has some mid major offers(Cleveland State, Buffalo, Kent State, Indiana State etc..), I haven't done any more research though or looked at film.

Our coaches recently followed him on twitter as well. I'm guessing we'll see a cool down on offers for the time being though. PG looks to be a big priority and coaches will probably want to see where Castaneda and Wade fall. As i mentioned previously i feel pretty good about our chances with Wade, and indications are we're still in the running for Castenada. Both are good players. Wade's a solid distributor and can score as well... Castenada is quicker and a probably a borderline high major passer; kid can dish. I prefer Castenada over Wade but both are nice gets.

Pinson I'd have to do more research on but i know he just transferred from St. Pats and has raised his game a lot this summer. I'll add him on the next recruiting update unless we offer him first!
