We're still in the mix for Javon Freeman Liberty. He had a few higher offers but sounds like he's focused on mid majors for now..

Also of note official visits are starting to get scheduled. Xavier Castaneda has one with Central Florida and another with Wichita scheduled. Will keep the thread updated if Loyola visits are posted.

Cooper Kaifes, 6-3 Guard, Mill Valley High School (Kansas)
Plays for the really solid Mokan Elite program that produced Ben Richardson and Clayton Custer. Really trying not to be too simplistic; but he seems to be nearly identical to Ben in skill set; 3 point shooter, not the best athlete but will bring some of the best hustle. Seems like a great culture/glue guy. He has some Valley offer (UNI, Drake, and MSU). Wants to study business in school per an attached interview.

He also broke his foot last season, so he missed most of the season, but prior to that he was the go-to player and leading scorer on his team, and they tended to struggle when he wasn't on the floor. His team won a state championship in 2016, and he was the only returning starter last year. So while he wasn't flashy, he was able to put up some good numbers against good schools despite everyone knowing it was going to him.

I didn't know about the foot, nice research! A lot of the heavy lifting for recruits happens during their junior season, players who miss time then are usually a bit under recruited and end up as hidden gems. One of the reasons Milton ranked as a 2 star recruit out of high school but still ended up at Kansas initially was because he missed his jr season with injury and did not get all the early evaluations.

Zion Griffin has released his top 4 schools, and we're out. Just hope he doesn't end up at ISU.

Speaking of Illinois State, Brian Mullins' brother Brendan left UIC to take an assistant coacing job with the Redbirds.

Ugh, i hated seeing that; only because it's a great hire for them. He got a lot of really high level talent at UIC; much like Bryan has done for us.

I'd be shocked if Zion doesn't commit while on visit at Kansas. He's said several times it's one of his dream schools.

Lamar Norman Jr received and offer. I wrote about him a while back, high level scorer and plays AAU ball with Brandon Wade who we've also offered. A bit shorter at 6'2 but he's got a lot of bounce to his game.
