According to CBS MVC Standings we have the WORST RPI in the league !!! Would you guys please advise how this is so . THANKS a ton !!!

I say this only because I have felt the Committees before and after 1988 passed over us time and time again--

Brot, it's early in the season, and several of our opponents haven't won a D1 game yet. Between Wright State, UMKC, MVSU, and Samford, our opponents are a collective 2-17. If we beat UNCW (1-1) and Kent State (2-1) on a neutral court, we should rise. I believe that Wright State is a .500 or so team, and UMKC seems to be getting better by the day (they lost to Penn and Georgia Southern by three points each).

If you want a ranking of how good we are based much more on performance, look at KenPom.com. The RPI can be gamed, and it was built to favor mediocre big conference teams. It is a little more fair with the adjustments made for home and road games, but it's still stacked in favor of The Big Boys.

In short, think of it this way: The RPI rates you based on who you know and who your friends know, and KenPom is how you look to an efficiency expert.

I do remember being in Tulsa when Big Al was atop the pile on court screaming that THIS YEAR THERE WILL NOT BE ANY VOTE--WE EARNED IT !!!

It is still a long road ahead but I do feel we are capable and with our talent and coach driven discipcline (sp) we just may surprise !!
