Went to the see the Long Island Nets play the Windy City Bulls. A D league game out in Hoffman Estates at the Sears Centre. It is much nicer arena than the All State Arena.
Nice arena but a bit pricey and the refreshment stands were a real rip off.
We got the $27 dollar seats (normally $25 but add $2 because not purchased in advance. ) Sat right behind about six rows behind the Nets bench.
Throw in $10 for parking.
Murph and Bill P were also there along with The Calculator Lady and myself.
Milt's mom and a whole slew of friends made it a nice cheering section.

Milt started slowly missing his first five shots and he had two fouls. Played nine minutes in the first quarter and had 7 points at half.
He exploded in the second half and had at least five rebounds and three assists. He was playing off the wing in the corner and had to take a lot of outside shots.
The game went double OT and the Nets won in double OT 114-113 and Milt finished with 23 points.
Down by one with 1.7 seconds to go, Milt got the inbound pass and drove to the lane and banked a lay up off the glass as time expired.
A great way to end the game for all Loyola fans and for Milt and his family and friends. So proud of him.

On another note, Coach Moser showed up at the game with all of his coaches and the entire men's team. They stayed the whole game and it was a nice night out.
Coach is a real class act and mixed with the fans. Had a great time.
The team leaves on a charter tomorrow for Springfield MO for the Friday game. Should be a tough one.

Learned the following info some from the internet

1. D league salaries are low ranging from 19 to 26k for the sixth month season.
2. If you get a two way contract (this is where you can go up to the parent team and then be sent back down, kind of like what teams do in MLB)
the salary ranges from $50 to $75 k. Milt just signed a two way contract. Each NBA team can only have two so it shows how Milt has stood out from the pack.
3. Milt is guaranteed 30 days of roster time at the big league level so expect him to be called up.
Per public info the NBA league minimum is $543,471,
So you can do the math.

So happy for Milt. He is a talented young man but what was very impressive was his maturity, poise and confidence. He is also a great team mate as well.
As talented as he is, I do not think that Milt would have reached this level of success if he did not have a great coach like Porter Moser to counsel and guide him and to tell it to him straight. Milt needed that 4th year to refine his game and it has paid off.

I look forward to following his career. I will also explore how we can purchase jerseys. He did have his name on the back. Nice for a Loyola guy to make it and to represent the university so well. It was thrilling to hear the team introductions and for Milt to start and to hear: : "from Loyola University, number 35 Milton Doyle".

Great write-up! Thank you for sharing!

I'm really really impressed by coach Moser! With conference play starting in just 2 days, I would imaging his time and the teams time is very valuable this time of year. I think it says a lot about him and the rest of the coaching staff!!! They had to be going nuts when he hit that final shot!

Just did some sleuthing.... the last time a Loyola player appeared in an NBA game was on December 22, 1987, exactly 30 years ago today. Andre Moore had two points and one rebound for Milwaukee in a game against the Knicks. It was played at the MECCA, where Loyola played last Saturday.

Fantastic stuff. A lot of those guys don't realize how close they are, let their attitudes get in the way, and never see a minute of NBA action. That definitely did not happen to Milt. Huge congrats to him and #PROUDMOM. Go forth and set the Association on fire Milt!
