I mean, what are you supposed to do on a night they’re making 30 foot shots, not getting called for eye gouging, and we get T’d up for breathing. Road games.

Beyond that, we aren't going to win any games shooting 3/15 from three

And that. A lot of open shots missed.

Krutwig looked great, Avery had some quality minutes, I think the rest our upperclassmen need to step up a little more. I am happy with Donte's leadership, can see him directing others on the court and trying to keep everyone in line

That hurts a lot. I thought we played very well. We were short-handed, and MSU hit some shots.

Going 3 of 15 on threes concerns me, especially after 4 of 19 at Milwaukee. We can't win if we don't stretch the defense with realistic three point threats.

I thought we would have deserved a win, but MSU made some prayers.

Aundre had a better game than at Milwaukee, but he missed a couple shots he usually makes, too.

The next two games are must win.

not only are our top 2 guards out but they’re also our biggest 3pt threats.

Wasn’t able to watch but love what Krutwig was able to do what he did against Johnson(I assume?)

2 games in over 2 weeks can’t help rhythm either, but gotta be able to seal game out late in the Valley. Still, not the worst showing at the conference favorites place missing 2 of our best.

The stat sheet says we neutralized their rebounding advantage, and they outshot us on threes, which is one of our strengths.

From a coaching standpoint, I would have stopped play in the run they made late in the first half. And Scurry's mismatch was a thing that needed a solution. Montel James could have guarded him; Donte was overmatched on quickness.

But other than that, good work from the coaching staff. What else can you do when they hit 33-foot threes at the buzzer because you've played great defense for 29 seconds?

Looks like the charter didn't make a difference. The only must wins are in St. Louis. Anywhere from 1st - 6th place gives you a realistic chance of winning the tourney.

If we lose to Evansville or Indians State at home you would have to consider the possibility that we don't finish 1-6.

In okay with this in a wish we woulda won kind of way.....We really miss Richardson and Custer....we are just short of guys who can attack the basket..(having said that they had a good game plan last night if they could of hit some of the 3s)..Townes is getting better,,,Skokna is getting better....but not as polished and efficient as R and C.....without Ben we struggle more on defense...with Ben he can lock down a guard , Donte can lock down a forward and Kurtwig can guard the rim.We have Donte handling the ball way too much....and Satterwhite just does not handle the point well....he really needs a pull up jumper......
So all that said...I think we had a chance to win on the road against one of the top teams in the Valley...lots of guys got experience.
Side notes....We really need to sign a point guard for next year.....Avery still does not look 100% and appears Negron is not there yet either.....Got some time now for Richardson and Custer to heal up.....we will win two at home....Then with everyone healthy we are going to go on a big run .....with road wins.
