You never like to see disharmony on a team.. Hope Coach has been upfront with guys on what they need to do to get playing time.....Three things I do know after watching teams coached by PM is you had better play defense and not turn the ball over...and if you cant you get a quick hook....At this point it looks like Avery does not play good defense and Cam still turns the ball over.....He has a hump to get over because he sure is playing tight. However you would hope there was a team rule about negative social media crap and you would also hope that players feel comfortable talking to the coach.......Hope this is just a blip....cuz I like a happy family....

Good Grief This is all about a LOYOLA TEAM. not any individual--When a TEAM succeeds, the individual will succeed as well. Custer for example is back doing HIS job , we win because the TEAM plus Custer did its job as a team ~~ Avery apparently sulks--PITIFUL !! He , if all that is being said of him is factual, for the team's good--CUT HIM unless he mends his ways OR maybe this all is not factual

This team is now on the cusp of really great things--Lets go !!!

BTW look at our team of three years back--ALL played to its capacity and WON !! Now our TEAM is better !! AVERY if all we say re him is true must change or he must go !!!

Sorry Grad I am old school --WE are compassionate IF it is earned

Something else to highlight, Lucas Williamson's minutes have been pretty crazy and not what we expected coming in. He logged 32 minutes last night even with Custer and Ben back, and he is averaging about 28 minutes a game since the Florida game. While he doesn't stuff the stat sheet, he is always good for a couple timely buckets, takes care of the ball, and flows in the offense really nicely while playing admirable defense in my opinion. So lucky we are going to have him with Krutwig for 3 more years, he is turning out to be quite a recruiting steal

I'm not saying he came out of nowhere  But I don't think anybody expected him to be playing 32 minutes in a conference game in January

I think with the incoming players, the expectations were Krutwig would probably be a starter. Negron and Avery would be some of the first players off the bench, and anything out out of Williamson would be a bonus. I was a little more optimistic about Williamson, just because he'd been on TWO state champion teams and the second one as the team's go-to player. I think it takes a lot for a high school kid to have the right mindset to go through that kind of pressure and play their best, so I'm always impressed by that.

If it's horn tootin' time, three guesses which Ramblermaniac first identified Williamson as a prospect Loyola should recruit. (Hint: His initials are S.F., and it's not Sigmund Freud or Sally Fields...).

I just listened to Porter on the Valley Coaches Teleconference. He pointed something out that I think a lot of us missed: Yesterday was the 1st game all year that everyone was healthy and available to play. Hopefully, it stays that way for the rest of the year.

You were also the first to suggest he should switch positions ;)!

Kidding of course, it is impressive how strong he came on after looking shaky in the first 3 games. Reminds me a ton of how Ben and Donte were as freshmen, but I'd argue he's been even better.

I guess in this era of "positionless basketball" it doesn't really matter what you label Williamson as, but I think his skill set at present leans a little more to small forward than shooting guard. This might be why he didn't garner as much recruiting love as his high school resume would suggest; he is small for a D1 3.

I'm not saying he won't become an excellent shooting guard, but I think he was used at Whitney Young more underneath, and needs to get used to additional ball handling duties.

Let's call him a Wing and cheer his continued growth and success.
