"WHAT'S THE POINT WHY DO I GET EXCITED!?!"

Southern has a real short bench but their players PLAY. I don't think it's sustainable by the time the tournament comes around but they should still have plenty in the tank.

I have a feeling it's gonna be a close one.

SIU fans would probably laugh if they saw someone say Hinson is the best coach in the league, but he certainly has had our number of late.

There are many areas of coaching ability: sideline X's and O's, game planning, motivation, player development, recruiting, improvisational ability, media abilities, personnel selection/management, etc. Hinson gets some good players, but he's not a great recruiter.... I don't think he's great on player development, but he really knows how to use what he does have. And when it gets down to crunch time, I think he's pretty good. You could say the same about Greg Lansing, except I think Lansing is exceptional at player development.

All i know is, our coach seems to finally have things on track. If i'm keeping track correctly, before tonight, Porter is 103-109 at Loyola, and slowly creeping towards a winning overall record in his tenure here. If he can get us a 20 win season, a regular season championship, and a winning overall record by the time we hit Saint Louis, I'll be very happy with where we are at as a program, regardless of what happens in the MVC tournament.

At the end of the Whitesell era, if you would have told me seven years from his firing that we would be competing for No. 1 in a vastly better league, with a brand new arena, I probably wouldn't have believed it. Hopefully we keep winning and Porter proves to be worth the long investment we've made in him to turn this program around.

We need to throw a wrench in their offensive rebounding.

Great play by Donte.... I'd like to see a great game from him...

Brilliant start. I don't think I've ever seen us come out of the locker room with murder in our eyes like this...

Really like this start. Crowd energy seems to be the best in awhile, home or road. Maybe that's got something to do with our starts? Either way, let's keep it up!
