Our last turnover was at 16:12 remaining in the second half, and led to a three pointer to give Campbell a 43-38 lead. From then on, we had ZERO turnovers and outscored them 42-25.

Yes, there was much golf clapping during that stretch.

This was the first home game I had to miss this year because of my organic chemistry final tomorrow and it looks like I missed a great performance by Doyle. Would have really liked to see it and O'Leary getting it done too. He has made alot of progress since the beginning of last season where he seemed to be messing up every time he touched the ball. This is a good win to bring us to .500 and looks like the team is starting to put it together and Porter is making the in game adjustments he needs to.

Always good to see a win. Seems like this was an effort, hard work win. Still very concerned about inside presence in the MVC. Oleary is doing a nice job but his major contribution is as a high post passer. He is getting some inside buckets but not as a post up This actually might be a change in our approach...creating more driving lanes for Milton Doyle. Osbourne continues to be a mystery but still appears to be the major low post presence. Christian Thomas is kind of amazing down low but you got to wonder if that will keep up in the Valley. Also Chrisman really seems hesitant to shoot the 3 or shoot at all. Defensive players are starting to really sag off him. I Thought he had a decent outside shot?
I am guessing this is going to be the guys that play. No Nixon or Picket and I am guessing that Tanner Williams is still hurt.
Jeff White had ZERO turnovers in 32 minutes as well as Joe Crisman had ZERO turnovers.
Well the narrative continues to grow.

One of the best things I saw from last night's game was Matt O'Leary's play. Milton and KeKe both had phenomenal games, but we knew they can ball and O'Leary has kind of been a big question mark for me this season. But that line last night: 15 points on 5/6 shooting, 1/1 from 3, 5 boards, 5 assists, 2 steals. Made all his free throws too--something a lot of the team seems to have a hard time taking care of. His passing was spot on, and him finding Christian Thomas in the post over and over again led to a lot of points and opportunities from the stripe.

The big head-scratcher for me this game....London Dokubo with 16 minutes? 16? I know he's a good guy and a hard worker but let's be honest he can't take care of anything on the floor. Anything. He's not a shooter, is too small to play defense (he was getting posted up by the Campbell 2-guard), and isn't a good enough ball handler to open up anything on offense that another play can't. Compare with Turk, who had 8 minutes. I get that Turk is in the doghouse for whatever reason but at least he can be a playmaker, and either way its more valuable to develop him--we know Dokubo's ceiling, and it's low.

Another interesting fact. If my figures are correct, 40 of our 80 points (50% for you non-math folk) came from layups/dunks.

You have to love the fact that we were aggressive and took the ball to the hoop. We need to keep that up if we want to be successful.

Agreed. And how we kept adjusting once we got there! We opened so many deep shots in the second half with KeKe's drive and kick out. I'm actually really impressed with his court vision for being a sophomore. We gotta prove we can hammer it inside so we can spread the floor.

On that note--currently 26th in the NCAA for FG% (.495), per ESPN. Not bad considering we're 100 or 200+ for pretty much everything else.

Also, here's Doyle's big dunk from last night. Shame he couldn't get the alley oop from Jeff White to fall. Thomas' poach dunk from the end of the game comes at 1:51.

I have learned from a good source that Tannner Williams' knees are not responding well to therapy, and that he will not play this season. Further surgery is probable, and that might not alleviate the condition.

That's sad to hear. I hate to see a guy miss out on a chance to play due to injury. Hopefully surgery this time around works and he's able to get on the court at some point in his career for the Ramblers.

Too bad about Tanner.

It was obvious from the exhibition game that his knees were still bothering him.

I hope rest or more surgery will permit him to return to the court and fulfill the promise he showed early in his career.
