Initial thoughts......

We are not tough enough. We're getting pushed around and shying away from contact.

We're not going up strong enough when we're under the basket. Embrace and power through contact.

Krutwig, Custer, and Townes seem like they're playing too contained, and they need to tap into a desire to win which doesn't look all that strong right now. Yes, Townes hit that big 3 to tie, but he looked a little sleepy before that.

so much uncalled contact down low but have to find a way to overcome that. Really a great defensive effort overall. Same ol story of not making open shots though.

We have the best defense in the conference.

Our offense...well....they have a lot to figure out.

Don’t jump yet, Brot.

Our defense is great, even playing without Williamson.

Our offense is not great, playing without Williamson.

At this point, all that matters is how we’re playing in February and March, and this team still has a huge upside and high ceiling.

Next up is conference season. Based on everything so far, I still see us as the favorite.

I think we are much more similar to last years UNI team than a conference favorite

Have you seen the other conference teams this year? The only one that makes me nervous is SIU, based on their experience. ISU sure as heck does not.

The other ISU should. Just beat Colorado and have their two nice transfers active. Drake also sitting at 8-2. ISUb and Drake also happen to be our first two games of conference play.

Still think our defense makes us the favorite, especially when we get Williamson back. But man, the shots just have to start falling.

SIU looked really horrible in a home loss to Winthrop earlier today. Big win for ISUb over an 8-1 Colorado team.

No question our defense is best in the league right now (Williamson in a cast), but our offense might be 7th or 8th.

I think this is one of the biggest issues. We are very weak with the ball.
