Last year was magical, fantastic and unbelievable. Team basketball played at an extremely high level often at the moments that mattered.....How lucky as fans were we??? For those of us who have been there thick and thin.....when the band outnumbered the customers and watched Andy Polka with his two inch vertical hustle and position himself to more wins than we deserved...and countless others who hustled and played hard through bad seasons with pitiful crowds.....last year was a tremendous payoff . So this year we have been disappointed by some ragged play and tough losses at the whistle.....wins over Furman and St.Joes might have changed our perspective a little. The one thing that has risen to new heights this year is our attendance, student involvement and game day experience. We have bitched and moaned about this for yearssss......So I am hoping that the portion of our new fan base is going to stick with us this year, hell or high water, to be a fan, a real fan means you stay through thick and thin and try and make your impact on the game by helping to create a great atmosphere. So lets get pumped....enjoy being an LU fan , win or lose.......no fair weather fans.....lets make the kids that committed feel appreciated to be a Rambler......and lets enjoy watching them compete, focus on the process not the outcome as they say......and maybe dance again........RAMBLERSSSSS Let the games begin.

Nate the Skate says it all! Don't be a sunshine patriot or a summer soldier. Be there through the thin as well as the thick. This team and in particular this coaching staff deserve our support. They work incredibly hard.

Jumping off the bandwagon now will be dumb. All of our losses are to teams with winning non-conference records. Nevada, Furman and Maryland are tournament teams this year. All of the games but Nevada were winnable if we played well - and this team has the potential to play well. Some of our losses are without Williamson who is arguably our best defensive weapon and showed early he has scoring potential. We still have a top 25 defense.

We go into conference with the returning player of the year and freshmen of the year. We have the returning coach of the year who had a team that wasn’t even picked in the top 3 in conference last year and won the conference regular season and tournament handily. Nobody in conference has proven they are head and shoulders above the rest of the league. Injuries have given us a chance to deepen our bench with more experience.

The overall goals for the season is to 1) win the valley regular season (still attainable) and 2) win the MVC tournament (still attainable). We may have had a goal to get an at-large - but if we succeed in the other two goals it’s a a moot point anyway.

The overall goals for the program is to 1) boost attendance (we are doing it) 2) improve recruiting (we are doing it), and consistently make the tournament (still attainable).

Everyone needs to relax and rally behind these guys. There is a ton to play for.

Nice try, Nate, but I'm rooting for Duke from now on.
