What a statement game. Can anyone remember us winning a conference game by 35 points since we joined the MVC? I can't. I think we beat Missouri State by 30 our first year in the league.

What a defensive performance. Held 1st teamer Jordan Barnes SCORELESS. He was averaging over 20 per game coming in.

Aher Uguak got the start, and made the most of it with a career high 19 points on 8-for-8 shooting.

Really good, active crowd even without the students. I like these 8 p.m. weekday starts.

It looks Nick Norton, Drake's point guard, will be out for Saturday's game with us with an apparent knee injury. Norton leads Drake in total minutes this season, as well as 3 pointers made, assists, and steals. He averages around 15 points per game. This is obviously a huge blow to them.

I hope his injury is not too bad and he'll be able to get back in the Court, as Drake has been the pleasant surprise of the Valley this season. That being said, if Norton is out, it makes me feel a little bit better about our chances of going to Drake and winning without Williamson.

Not sure what else to say about this one. It looks like we used the break to our advantage. Great game where pretty much everything went right.

I can't figure out why Lansing never called a timeout in the first half. He looked like he wanted to crawl into a hole. I was half expecting him to stay in the locker room at halftime.

In post game, Porter said Uguak had been knocking down shots in practice, and he just needed to see some of those shots fall in a game to get his confidence. I’m really hoping that’s the case, and he’s turned the corner. Having him and Williamson to complement our big three makes this team extremely dangerous. I can’t wait for Saturday to see if they stay hot.

Heading to Des Moines for the Saturday game. Its not often that you get sunny and mid to high forties in the forecast. Once we went and had to drive through the last hundred miles in a raging blizzard. The next day on the drive back there were at least ten 18 wheelers in the ditch.
Great to see Aher get it going. I really like when he drives to the hoop. Changes the dynamic for sure. Lets see if we can sustain the success against Drake.
If you plan on going to ArchMadness keep in mind there is a Garth Brooks concert that weekend in St. Louis at the Edward Jones arena.
A lot of hotels will be sold out. If you call the Westin reservation line you will be told the hotel is sold out. Instead call the hotel at 314-621-2000 and ask for Erica and she can book you a room under the Loyola block of rooms. Got a rate of $199.

Just some small tidbits I caught at the game that might have gone unnoticed.
-Hustle: There were more than a few plays where multiple Ramblers were on the ground. I specifically remember Bruno diving to save a ball, Clay, Kaifes, and Aher all getting on the floor for one loose ball, and the relentless hustle defense by everyone.
-Swagger: There was a moment when Aher made a post move and the defender flopped to the ground and Aher made the basket. After he kinda stared down the defender on the ground. Also, both times Krutwig made an And-1 he erupted with excitement. There's a big difference between confidence and cockiness. If this team gets that confidence and that swagger -- look out.
-Bench: The bench was really into it the whole game; they really had some great celebrations.

We held Barnes scoreless....but he did not play the entire second half. He was in the game at the end of the 1st half, so wondering what happened there. Anybody know anything?

Also - the Westin block of rooms at $199 is now gone. "new block" of rooms now available at $239. Missed it by that much.....
