We held Barnes scoreless....but he did not play the entire second half. He was in the game at the end of the 1st half, so wondering what happened there. Anybody know anything?

Also - the Westin block of rooms at $199 is now gone. "new block" of rooms now available at $239. Missed it by that much.....

I think I read it was an “undisclosed illness”. I think maybe the coach has seen enough of his chuck 3s and lackluster defense and decided Barnes wasn’t playing the second half.

Same here. New block is doubles or king premium with view of Busch iirc.

What a fun game, couldn't be happier for Aher who looked like he was on a different playing field yesterday. His athleticism and touch around the rim was extremely impressive; and like Jbuchholz said I love the swagger the team played with; they looked like they were having fun and that there was very little let up throughout. Too often in our early years in the Valley we would let teams hang around, that trend changed last year when we'd just slam the door on teams and it’s good to see we still have that instinct. Yesterday we kept our foot on the gas for the first 25 minutes until the game was over.

Krutwig and Townes also had crazy games. In 20 minutes Krutwig had 16, 10, 5, 2, and 2 while Townes had 13, 7, 5 and 1. Dominate performances. Custer was steady and in control on both ends as well; looked so locked in. I’ll even give Bruno credit. He didn’t shoot well but I thought he defended really hard (as did Bujdoso!).

Looking forward to Drake, feel awful if Norton tore his ACL. I heard he tore it in high school and at UAB.

Not sure what else to say about this one. It looks like we used the break to our advantage. Great game where pretty much everything went right.

I can't figure out why Lansing never called a timeout in the first half. He looked like he wanted to crawl into a hole. I was half expecting him to stay in the locker room at halftime.

You should have heard his interview right before the 2nd half, asked the reporter if he wanted to trade places for the second half. So I think you are right he probably thought about staying in the locker room too.

Aher played very well within himself last night. Used his athleticism to get to the basket, didn't force shots, played great defense and had a ton of solid hustle plays. He looked like a completely different player last night from the non-con; so much so that if I were an Indiana State fan, I'd be suspicious his name is Sudanese for Minnesota Fats.

Per Drake Basketball's twitter, their point guard, Nick Norton, who suffered a knee injury last game, is officially out for the rest of the season.

Sad to hear that for the kid, and for Drake.

As good as Drake has been, they are weak at the backup point guard position... They are probably going to struggle for the foreseeable future.

IMO Drake was the biggest competition to win the league. Feel bad for the kid.

Also feel bad for him. I feel bad for Drake fans too. They had such a great non-conference boost of energy this year (like we did after Florida last year), and their arrow was pointing up. I agree, they seemed like they were going to be the team to beat in the Valley, going into conference play.

Just goes to show you that anything can happen throughout the course of a season...

A little late - but an interesting moment from Wednesday for me came around the halfway mark in the second half. Kaifes took a deep three with defenders draped on him early in the shot clock. Porter yanked him just to chew him out and then put him right back in. I loved the accountability three quarters of the way through a blow-out.

What a fun game. I was shocked at how good the crowd was with the students out. There were three students in front of me who must have been freshman or new fans because I heard one of them say "It's weird to be here without a big student section". The only concerning thing was how the band sounded with half of them gone (and seemingly no one playing first parts). The fight song took on a dirge quality.

That sucks to hear re: Drake. We've been very lucky to only have to deal with relatively minor injuries the last two years.

That's pretty funny about the students. The did announce that the band was from a local high school. I thought they were fine, they just needed to play louder :)
