Just curious on Mr. Welch,,,,,,how good are his ball handling skills.....can he create his own shot......or does he need to come off screens???? He is putting up some kind of numbers.

Both Tom Welch and Marquise Kennedy played in the Jack Tosh holiday tournament. Here are there stat lines:

Kennedy (all tournament team honors):
12/29 - 22 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 steals, win in OT
12/28 - 29 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, win
12/27 - 12 points, 5 rebounds, 0 assists, 4 TO, loss
12/26 - 23 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, win (against my alma mater)

Welch (I think he got injured halfway through his second game, but not sure on severity):
12/27 - 11 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 5 TO, loss
12/26 - 30 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, win (against eventual consolation champion)

Wojcik:
Played in the Hoop City Classic where his team won and has taken over the #1 national seed. Trying to find stats and will update when I do.

Averages:
Kennedy: 21.5 / 6 / 3.75 / 1.75
Welch : 20.5 / 6 / 2

In Welch's first game back from his lower calf injury in the Christmas tournament he led his team to a victory with a stat line of: 23 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 blocks. He's averaging 23 ppg.

Kennedy with 31 against Mt Carmel. Have we ever really recruited kids with these kinds scoring numbers? Awesome to see.

Kennedy is absurdly smooth going to the rim. He won't be at the same level right away but looks to have the right skill set to replace Townes as an excellent slasher. His stats have been stellar

This year is exciting, but you really have to be optimistic about what we have next year, if everything holds true.

Forwards:
Cameron Krutwig
Aher Uguak
Christian Negron
Frank Agunanne
Tom Welch

Guards:
Lucas Williamson
Cooper Kaifus
Bruno Skokna
Isaiah Bujdoso
Tate Hall
Marqueis Kennedy
Paxton Wojcik

We lose Custer and Townes, but we gain what is arguably our best recruiting class ever. I’ve been impressed with Kaifus and Bodjuso stepping up immediately as freshmen and anticipate that our incoming freshmen are going to be contribute even more.

We should have a strong starting lineup to start the season, even with just our returners:

Budjoso – PG
Kaifius – SG
Williamson – SF
Negron – PF
Krutwig – C

What’s even more impressive is what our second line might be:

Kennedy – PG
Hall – SG (who many say can shoot the lights out) / Wojcik - SG
Uguak – F
Welch – F
Agunanne – C

I honestly think that second line would be good enough to win the Horizon league, or at least compete. Top to bottom, this team would be the most solid one we’ve ever had if we keep everyone. We should have the ability to plug in reserves for starters at almost every position (but center) and barely have any drop off in talent. If Frank and Negron can improve a little more in the summer, we will really be a force.

I know that a sinister lineup featuring Budjoso, Wojcik, Hall, and Krutwig would please swella!
