Very strange rotations by Porter tonight. He was his usual hyper self in the first half - subbing way too frequently. Including 1 stint for Negron that lasted about 8 seconds. Then.....virtually no subs in the second half. No Frank, no coop, and only about 1 minute for Aher. Budjoso plays the entire second half after not playing at all against Missouri State......not sure what Porter was thinking but I think he gives you a little more defense with his length and quickness.

Good win tonight.

I am not sure what to make of this game from PM's perspective. My fear is that he wanted to see what Bruno and Budjoso could do because he does not believe Lucas is coming back.

MOST game against UNI - Law of averages. Unfortunately, our game against MOST wasn't long enough.

Great bounce back game against a team we should have beaten like we did. Very pleased to see Isaiah get such an extended time, kids a hell of a defender & his running the offense will only get better with live reps. We are back to controlling our own destiny which is all we can ask for. Heres to hoping we take care of business on the road trip!

Yeah I was happy to see Isaiah get some time in the game, he’s got potential to be a pretty good driver to the basket too.

I agree that game planning has contributed to our awful perimeter defense. Doesn't happen every game, but too many times we insist on doubling the post against guys that haven't demonstrated that they need to be doubled. 1 or 2 passes later there is an open 3 point shooter.

For some reason those don't bother me as much. If a team can pass out of the double and find an open shooter, good for them. The ones that kill me are when the shot clock is winding down and we just give too much space to a guy who is going nowhere, waiting to fire a three.

Don't you put that evil on us.

Although he was still in some kind of cast yesterday (which was the 3 week point)....

Agreed... these absolutely kill me too!

Agreed, more often than not we've been killed by defending really well for the first 27 seconds of the shot clock before someone gets open at the buzzer. The doubling has actually forced a good amount of turnovers this year and has effected some really good post players IMO (Mcglynn and Fayne), it's allowed us to play some mind games and double at different times so they don't know what's coming and can get a little trigger happy. Opposing teams making threes always sucks tho haha.

I think PM is a defensive genius...He often stops the other teams leading scorer as well as forces them to score in way that is not their preferred method.. most of the time when we double in the post it is to prevent the pass out to the 3.....sometimes we do it well and sometimes not. Last night their leading scorer and assist leader was held to 6 points and one assist. certainly not as well as last year.....some teams like Valpo and Evansville have decided to not double the post....The Evansville coach even said when he was asked if he was going to double Krutwig that " what and let him pass out to those 3 point shooters" so different strategies...
We are lucky to have a center who is a good passer .
Did anyone notice who the assistant coaches were at Evansville? Lickliter and Graves.....Lickliter the pain in our ass from Butler and one of his players, Matt Graves, who was the head coach at South Alabama....I am thinking someone with deep pockets had made a significant contribution to Evansville.....Also they have some significant transfers coming in next year..
