Lucas Williamson’s line tonight:

12 points on 4/6 shoot (3/5 from three) 4 rebounds, 4 steals (and numerous deflections that disrupted their offense). Man I wish we had him all year, but it’s good to have him back now.

I think that 28% is just about right on our road average. It's beyond absurdity at this point. Without Lucas it probably would have been 10% again.

I guess Porter now has to say there are a million and two ways to win a game?

What idiot on the board said it might be a good idea to shut down Williamson for this season due to his injury?

I permanently banned that guy. Won't be hearing from him no more.

He'd feel even worse if he hadn't just gotten an offer from DePaul.

I mean Take Custer’s 7 missed threes off our stat sheet and we’re shooting 43%. I’m giving him a hard time but at this point I’m just tired of his inconsistency. There was also at least three, 3 pointers dropped in his face from guarding loose. Maybe being in grad school and only taking night classes is messing with him? Maybe the pressure from last year is messing with him? I have no idea but I’m done giving him an excuse because he had a good year last year. It’s gone on too long, he’s just not playing well this year. Hopefully he proves me wrong here but I’ve been saying that all year and it hasn’t been working, it’s gone way past being a funk. Anyways having Lucas back made up for his missed shots. Lucas all around makes us so much better, he came back at the perfect time.

Fair points. He's also playing 34 minutes a game (6th highest in MVC per Kenpom). Hopefully having Lucas back takes some pressure off of everybody else. It was pretty striking tonight how much better the offense looked with him in there. He's ready to make a play when he catches the ball at the arc.

Except for Williamson and Kaifes two or three times, we are still passing up good shots to make that "extra pass" and then turning the ball over.

One thing I noticed about Williamson, when he carried the ball into the frontcourt at the start of the shot clock, he really snapped the ball into Krutwig (rather than telegraphing a soft lob to him). It gave Krutwig some advantage to start his move to the basket before the defender could fully prepare.

There was also a higher level of confidence by all the players. It was a huge difference.
