The VT job would be tough to turn down. ACC and Sweet 16 school. Those opportunities do not come up very often. With Mullins gone I wonder who Loyola would go after? Bryce Drew?

It's not a great job. I would not want to follow Buzz Williams. He has had more success there than any other coach.

Not sure it would impact us specifically, but Belmont’s head coach Rick Byrd is retiring after over 30 years. Some mid major shuffling to come

Seeing rumors on Twitter that their top target will be current Seton Hall coach, Kevin Willard.

This article doesn't mention Porter: https://www.roanoke.com/hokies/sports/m ... de426.html

i see him either staying or going to Arkansas. Though he hasnt been great at developing true bigs (besides Krut). Don't know if his style of small ball would be successful in SEC. Hope he stays

I think Arkansas is zeroing in on Musselman out of Nevada.

But there are some domino effects that concern me. TCU may be opening up if Jaime Dixon goes to UCLA as rumored. Seton Hall may also be opening up if Willard goes to Virginia Tech.

This stuff is exhausting.

ahunte, you're kind of a numbers guy.

Why don't you calculate the number of possible combinations (or is it permutations?) of all 351 Division 1 schools with the pool of all possible coaching candidates. To simplify the calculation, let's assume the coaching pool equals 500.

I came up with 1269 possible combinations, but that seems a little high to me.

Defense (Texas Tech and UVA) wins in the tournament. Defense is PM's calling card. I don't see any of these open jobs being appealing to PM.

Jaime Dixon is from LA. He coached with Ben Howland. Although TCU is his alma mater, UCLA would be an incredible job.
