2-3 Zone would be interesting. Only hesitation doing it against this specific team is this plays into Drake’s strength of shooting 3s.
I would also like to see more Welch, but matchup pending it seems like Porter as usual is starting to restrict the minutes for certain players as we move into conference play
The nice thing about this year’s team is we have so many options and can dictate some matchups/ride the hot hand. The top end of our guard/forward play isn't the best we've ever had, but it's probably the most level across the board. We have the benefit of being able to mix and match on different matchups and ride the hot hand. Krutwig, Williamson, Hall, Clemons, Pipkins, and Kennedy all have multiple double digit scoring efforts over the last 8 games. If Kennedy is struggling chances are Pipkins is able to pick up the slack. Then beyond the top 8 (Kennedy, Pipkins, and Agunnanne), we have further depth with our other two freshman. Wojcik’s length can cause problems on the defensive end and when he’s assertive on offense he can knock down shots. Welch always has great energy on the bench and plays hard in limited minutes. He definitely needs to add weight as I think MSU would have picked on him this weekend… But give him time and I think he’s a real weapon by his junior year.
Crazy to think we add two relatively known quantities in Kaifes and Norris next year, PLUS Hebb.
