Porter said 16/17 players and 4/6 coaches tested positive. No games until December. It was hard to follow, but sounded like at least 21 days from when they shut down.

Said he's still hoping to play Davidson.

The ESPN podcast with Porter was interesting.

On the scheduling - Porter basically said scheduling has been a nightmare after the Orlando bubble broke down. He said that you would think there would be a bunch of people trying to call and get games but that has not the case. Porter basically said that he will play anyone. I liked that he named specific schools. He said he’s a fan of three area schools in a region getting together and playing a round robin - but it’s tough to get schools to agree. He named northwestern, DePaul, Marquette, and Butler - but he can’t get anyone to agree.

Porter thinks there’s going to be situations where he’s going to get calls from schools where they say “Porter, we have cancellation, do you wanna play a game next week?”

The podcast was obviously recorded before the MVC announcement, but Porter thinks he might be able to get a non conference game during MVC play. I’m not sure the MVC is going to let that happen.

He said nobody on the team is having COVID complications and everyone is healthy. He thinks the team will come out the other side in a better position than most teams

It was a relief to hear that everyone seems to be getting through it ok without any real complications. Hopefully everyone fully recovers (and is back on the court in a few weeks, of course).
