The positive takeaway from the entire team already getting COVID, is that the likelihood of anyone getting it again is extremely low (I’m not a doctor, I’m just speculating). Porter said nobody has any complications and is healthy. This should mean that we don’t have to worry about this happening during the middle of our season. This may have been a blessing in disguise compared to it happening later on. Obviously I don’t want anyone to get COVID but it seems like this was one of the better outcomes for the team getting it.

So if us fans have had the Rona, can we be in attendance at the games?

I think, given the way Chicago is, and the amount of paperwork and cleaning that’s gonna have to happen no matter what, it’s probably asking a lot to have any type of fan support for home games. It’s a shame, but I’m just going to be glad if we can have any type of games to watch on tv.

I’ve actually got some concerns that some of our games might not be televised because of the way the set up is going to be. TV crews are probably going to be spread pretty thin.

I wanted to get some clarity since I haven't been keeping up with anything as of late.
LU had 16 out of 17 players and 4 out of 6 coaches infected?
Is this accurate. Any other teams have this sort of rate?
Any help would be appreciated.

That is what Porter said in a podcast interview with Dan Dakich and Seth Greenberg.

I haven't seen numbers from other teams. They usually put out statements like: "a positive test" or "multiple positive tests."

Yeah, those numbers are apparently accurate. Dakich stated, "Loyola is basically the worst-case scenario," and that our situation is the worst situation that's happened in college basketball, so far.

Here is the link to that podcast. Porter is on around the 40 minute mark.

Really appreciate the helping hand. I have had my traders and their families get sick, young and old in those families need a hospital and at the same time young and old not have any symptoms. Unfortunately, one of my friends lost both parents within three days of each other this past March. Being touched by this in many different ways changes your outlook on the rhetoric around Covid. I just don't want to see any of our guys or gals sick. Our numbers are way off the charts on any thing I have read.

Watching the ESPN website and other outlets today and it’s just a ton of teams canceling their first games.

Duke - cancels first game. Covid positive.

Arizona state - cancels first game. Covid positive.

Ole miss - cancels first game. Covid positive.

Baylor - cancels first game. Covid positive.

Florida - cancels first game. Covid positive.

Tennessee cancels first game. Covid positive.

Either football teams are better protected from getting it with pads and helmets or they are under reporting. It seems like it’s blowing through college basketball.
