We all knew we were going to get screwed with the seed. And that there was a good chance this would happen in Illinois’ bracket. The only surprise I have is that they didn’t match us with Mizzou as the 8/9 game.

But we’re good enough to beat anyone in our bracket if we hit our shots. I’d honestly be more pissed off at us being an 8 seed in this bracket if I was a Georgia Tech or Illini fan.

So let’s lace em up and punch em in the mouth. Literally, if necessary.

I'm not going to be upset or complain about the seeding any further. It is what it is. If their strategy is to force as many turnovers as possible like JCT said, I think our guys can overcome that strategy. We ran into that problem with Richmond, but dominated them in the second half. I'm not very concerned with GA tech. So I'd love to see the Ramblers win the first game, and I'll start dreading the Illinois match-up after.

At the end of the selection show they put the real seeds on the right side of the bracket and we were 30! No idea how that can be rationally explained.

We are the 8, enough debating. We’re we under seeded? Yes, but most of us expected it, it happened and it won’t change. Time to focus on Georgia Tech. Think we can beat them like most here, very tough match up though and we need to continue our strong offense from Arch Madness, specifically hitting our 3s and not go long stretches without a bucket. You can bet the house they will triple team Krut at times, other guys will have to step up. I believe this team is built to do that and will be just as hard of a match up for the yellow jackets. Hopefully we see some Krut and Welch together combos, the size will be needed.

Did you expect the AD from freaking Bradley to propel us to a better seed?

But, whatever.

Let's go beat Georgia Tech. They are good, but they play a pretty wild style from what I've seen. Yes, they won the ACC Tourney (congrats to them) but they won two games. It's not like they beat Duke, UNC, and Virginia.

They have really active hands on defense. Need to PROTECT the ball. They will be swiping like crazy whenever Krut touches it.

Looking more into this, I think there are some real positives for our draw...
1. National Exposure - everyone is hyping up our first round game as one of the best matchups. Imagine the hype if we beat the ACC champs. That hype only grows larger with an in-state matchup with 1 seed Illinois.
2. NO ONE wants to have us as a draw...that includes Illinois. A top 10 NET/Kenpom team as an 8 seed? No thanks.

Now, first thing first is focusing on GT. Quick points:
- they are ACC tourney champs and on a serious hot streak (winners of their last 8 I believe).
- #34 in NET, #32 in Kenpom
- 17-8 overall record
- starting lineup size: 6’0, 6’5, 6’7, 6’7, 6’9....in other words, slightly bigger than us but not emphatically so.

Basically, it is MARCH. Anything can happen. After a year of no March Madness, it is awesome that we can have something like this to look forward to.

Terrible seeding. It is a joke. We are an 8 seed and we play the ACC tournament champ with the ACC player of the year and if we win that, we play the Big Ten tournament champ. It’s criminal. It shouldn’t be hard to play the respect card. LFG.

Like others have stated, I feel we earned a 7 but will take the 8. I also agree that this match up was by design of the committee to test the strength of our culture, skills, and ability to rise to the occasion. I think as long as our boys shake the nerves, they can really thrive in the underdog position. The level of excitement and energy they showed on the selection show...literally jumping out of their seats as if they had just been called the 1 seed...shows me that they are going to BRING IT. This is going to feel like the longest week ever.
