Yes. Congrats to Drake....a fabulous game and great start to March Madness. Great for the conference. Drake had some unbelievable bad luck this year. They are a gutsy team. Great performances by Yesufu and Murphy (Wilkins and Sturtz had pretty tough games).

Not only is it great for the conference, but selfishly each game Drake plays is worth about $100,000 to Loyola in NCAA tournament share money (using very back of the envelope math). So them making the tournament plus the win is already $200,000 for the athletic department.

Someone should do a Ph.D. thesis on the Shockernet posts from this game. It's 47 pages (and counting) of toxic, narcissistic, hateful garbage. Each page has 15 individual posts, so it's like 700+ posts of anger, hatred, and disparagement of everyone outside the cult.

In 700+ posts, there's no credit given to Drake. If WSU is not scoring, it's due either to the player having a bad game or the incompetence of the recently hired (and maybe not coincidentally, African American) head coach. Drake's defense and coaching is very, very bad-- that's a given, a fact not to be questioned. The MVC is a bad conference, terribly mismanaged, and full of losers who don't REALLY care about winning-- that's another immutable fact of the cosmos.

It's no wonder Shockers fans became the most-hated fans in their new conference before their first season was done. I wonder if they're why UConn left-- you'd have to assume others want to get out of that hodge-podge conference, too. It's basically like the A10, but with no rhyme or reason or relationship between any of the teams. Maybe this is what Bill Walton means when he calls out "truck stop conferences."

The end of that game was eerily similar to the end of our first round game against Miami in 2018. But WSU missed their shot. That’s a shame.

I heard that was the first time WSU played a MVC team since they left the conference. If that’s true, that makes this win for the conference even better.

Congrats to Norfolk State for advancing! Hope they can come play us again next year (this was the 1st year since 2016-17 that we weren't able to play them).
