Things have changes since this poll was posted.

Coach Valentine’s first priority needs to be convincing EVERYONE to come back. I hope the seniors see that coming back now will show loyalty to their school and program, which they will be a part of for the rest of their lives. They’ve all been through something special together, and they have a chance to help one of their own, Coach Valentine, sustain this program’s success, or risk letting it die out after their head coach jilted them. I want Krutwig and Williamson’s legacy to be the story of a Loyola.... not Porter Moser.

We have the roster of a national top 20 team in place. We have the ability to keep it the same or make it even better. Next years team can reach the sweet 16 again or better if they stay focused. I implore the seniors - each one of them - to not let this program take a step back - and instead, propel it forward. The pieces are there. Seize the opportunity.

Selfishly...would be helpful to have the seniors back especially with Porter moving on to greener pastures. But, with the exception of Keith, I think the rest of the seniors move on. Cam and Lucas are already leaving behind an amazing legacy. They have nothing left to prove.

Aher and Tate have both been in college for 5 years now...they'll probably want to move on with life, too. Keith has only had 2 years of D1 under his belt so he could definitely come back for one more year. Would love to have him back on the team to provide some much needed senior leadership.

It's interesting. My feelings on this have changed dramatically in the past 24 hours. For whoever may come back, it now feels like less of a reunion tour. There's something to prove behind it.

Rumor has it that Lucas is a big Valentine fan and that he and Aher are coming back, but not Krut. Again, its a rumor but if so, it would definitely help with the transition to have them back to help teach the culture and the system to the new guys. Valentine was basically in charge of the defense and its more complicated than at first blush would reveal. It’s everything from player positioning, hand placements, rotations, etc. It’s no wonder most first kids we get struggle on defense a title.

Valentine was also heavily involved in recruiting so hopefully that will translate as well and kids will stay committed. Waiting on Ty Johnson news. I know a guy who is a huge HS basketball junkie to the point that during the Holiday Tournaments he will travel to two or three events in a day to watch kids. He says Ty Johnson is the real deal and that he thought that was terrific get for us. He thinks the kid is gonna be a star.
