SIU lost. MSU is losing. UNI is losing. Bradley is losing…by a lot.

Not a good night overall for the conference.

Embarrassing. MSU and UNI see their at-large chances submarine on opening night. Dana Ford is a bad coach and Ben Jacobsen is very overrated.

At least the ISUs won!

I honestly feel like I'd have bet it was more likely he would shoot at that volume and only miss one basket vs only make one. Brutal.

He missed most of last year. You have to expect he will need some time to get back to game speed.

He was getting subbed in/out for offense/defense at the end of the game, too. Wonder whether that is a health thing? Doesn't scream Player of the Year to me though.

Gotta feel a little bit for UNI and Missouri State though. I remember feeling like we blew our tournament chances after the Furman game in 2019 and the Coppin State game in 2020. It sucks for the conference too.

That Missouri State loss at home is a killer. KenPom and others had them winning with a 98% probability over Southeast Missouri. Also expected better from UNI.

In MVC adjacent news Yessefu scored zero points on 0/1 shooting for Kansas last night in his opener.

Watching the UNI/Vermont game right now. Big woof on attendance for the Panthers against a decent mid-major opponent. Even the student section is sparse--probably fewer than 100 students in attendance. Looks worse than Gentile did in our exhibition game vs UW-Stout.
